Like I said, wait for CES2008...and VOILA~! It showed up GO here: http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=224402EDIT: Now I'm a bit skeptical after Ezonics pointed out to me that it looks like R600. The card in the case don't have 2 heatsinks and the PCI-E power input is spread out like R600 prototype. This post has been edited by clayclws: Jan 13 2008, 10:19 PM

QUOTE(Ezonizs @ Jan 13 2008, 08:51 PM) the shape looks alike with the R600 aka HD2900XT 1 Gb prototype version lol Did you see the 2 larger heatsinks (compared to RV670)? One for each processor.

QUOTE(butthead012 @ Jan 14 2008, 12:35 AM) Its ok not that long la, still can fit in most cases... my question is most PSU has only 1 8-pin and 1 6-pin so for me i only can use 1 of this card... i wonder what psu is able to hold these cards in crossfire setup? any idea? what voltage? 800w minimum? When you see PSU being labelled as SLI or CF compatible, you'ld know that they have more than 1 PCI-E connector. Open it up and check to be certain. If they won't let you, don't buy it from that shop. As a consumer, you have every right to check the stuff that you are about to buy with hard-earned money. It's not RM1 or 2 purchase. It's hundreds of ringgit...

QUOTE(zeronehza @ Jan 15 2008, 10:34 PM) the score still too low compare to 3870 CF.. maybe some oced cpu + proper cat driver .can get higher score then... Do you realize that it is 2560x1600 resolution?

QUOTE(zeronehza @ Jan 15 2008, 10:42 PM) ouch.. sorry.. im not look it properly on 30" ? fuhh... These days...30" is the common monitor to be used for high end graphics card. Those cards only prove their worth when they are run at high resolution.

Crysis will still tax HD4xxx series lar...so don't expect much. Unless CF R680 or something.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 16 2008, 09:26 AM) still getting killed by crysis is a definite ouch... who needs GPU power for anything else? freaking COJ? come on AMD..!! Let's not get over-demanding. Crytek purposely designed Crysis to be a 100-ton King Kong. Even NVIDIA has a hard time trying to run it smoothly even though it's The Way It's Meant To Be Played. NVIDIA were the guys who gave life to Crytek originally, remember? I like the way Crytek is pushing the GPU limits...it means that we are advancing well. I hate to let it be stagnant like the consoles...I have nothing against the consoles though.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 16 2008, 09:50 AM) over-demanding is one thing, those x2 scores are basically same or even less than a single 3870 You like many others...choose to ignore the fact that it ran on 2560x1600 resolution...not 1280x1024.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 16 2008, 10:05 AM) you, like many others choose to ignore the fact that i'm referring to the crysis benchmark @ 1280x800 NOT the useless 3dmark06 Sigh...did I even mentioned 3dmark06? I guess you are referring to the one I post. Well, as you like. Go Google some more. Find the one whereby R680 can run Crysis at "playable" frame rate at 2560x1600 while HD3870 just stutter along.

I feel that there's a compelling need to benchmark your CPU as well. In a game, the GPU will handle the graphics (shadows, AA, lighting, etc.) but the CPU handles a hell lot of stuffs as well (AI - everyone in the game and not just those you see on screen - their movement, behaviour, etc., pathfinding - everyone as well, audio - if using onboard solution, physics - w/o Ageia, mapping, etc.) CPU is just as important for 3D.

Rumoured...Double the price...but not double the performance...of HD3870.

QUOTE(choyster @ Jan 17 2008, 12:44 AM) hope 3870 drop price because of this Because of R680? Won't affect much...but maybe lots of people ditch their HD3870 for the R680 lah. And you can get them cheap 2nd hand This post has been edited by clayclws: Jan 17 2008, 12:56 AM

QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Jan 18 2008, 03:12 PM) add another rm200 for etc charges should be around RM1.6k here. if this is real, it will be a nice card in terms of performance per price ratio. That's similar to getting 2 HD3870 and CF...Hoping this R680 can run without the need of a CF board.
