i know larr.. but it's best to get everything while it's cheap and available in its small size.. i know there are other 32" that only supports 720p.. for those who are held back by high cost, this is best bang for buck, i might say smile.gif but then again like broalexchan76 said, it's limited.. *sigh*

Hi guys,

1440 * 900 lcd monitor is 16:10 display
PS3 support standard 16:9 format
I using hdmi to dvi cable to connect, running on 720p, left and right image get distord.
I lost some screen detail.

Help. I dont want to buy a new screen just because of PS3

Solution might want to try :
1. I got a TV box kworld 1440. I plan to buy a component cable to connect PS3 to TV box. Then, TV box using D-Sub(VGA) to connect to my lcd.
Would this solve my problem ? Would y monitor rescale properly ?

Thanks

Usually on LCD, you can set it not to stretch.. In my case, i'm using a Dell 2408WFP, i set it to Fix Aspect Ratio.. so there's 2 tiny little black bar on the top on bottom..

To maximise your PS3 HD performance on your LCD/Plasma TV, you should use
Monster Gamelink HDMI cable specially made for Playstation 3.

Check out this thread on Garage Sale for this cable.

Now you don't have to pay with your arms and legs for a monster cable.

hi. I don't know whether this question has been brought up or not but anyways, sorry if it did...

Games such as Wipeout HD and some will be arriving later next year are in 1080p. I wonder if games like that can be played on a 1680x1050 native resolution monitor.
Will it be so-called downscale into 720p or it won't be able to play at all?

I know some monitors could force itself into 1080p but I don't want to do that.

PLanning to get the samsung 32" HD-Ready. SO if I use the HDMI cable, the resolution that I could get is still 720p/1080i right? Since the LCD tv is not FUll HD.

Btw, I'm not planning to get the 32" Full HD coz not much difference for 32 incher to display the 1080p right? Better to get 40" or larger to able to see the difference. Can someone confirm this?

ya .. i heard about this as well, since i dont have any blue ray disk to test it & 2 LCD to compare side by side, so i am not sure how truth it is .....
But i can see some different on the PS3 main menu with 720p & 1080p, perhaps i am sitting too close to it (hahahahaha, may get blind one day tongue.gif)...

the spec wise is quite ok compare to others model, but not sure LG will lasting or not (all the while i am anti-LG), hope my decision this time is correct icon_rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif
