If you have enough money go for LCD TV or plasma. Monitor produces the worse image among them all cause they are lacking off proper post processing circuit. You loss out a lot of detail pairing your PS3/X360 with monitor(albeit a bit cheaper in this kind of setup).
Monitor is only capable of producing best picture when paired with a dedicated GPU card such as Nvdia/ATI etc.

Hi I just bought an LCD Monitor (HP w185) has speakers. at a low price at RM 399 @ Harvey Norman. I need to know does the PS3 have a cable that can connect to the Monitor like the X-360? The Monitor got build in speakers, DVI connection & VGA Connection [Port or whatever you call it]. So what should I buy? Please help me out thanks.

So what should I buy? Please help me out thanks. Get a HDMI -> DVI cable for your video. Shud b able to find ard RM100 or less For audio you can use back your normal speakers or d monitor speakers. Just reuse the supplied cable and get a audio-jack convertor. Jus remember to setup the proper settings on ur PS3.
