Yah, entering now takes nerves of steel, for me its very true cos i'm for medium term. Should have went in when buffet took GS. I think even now buffet will not say go in when other ppl dare not enter.

Earlier financial sector figures might not reflect the economy but i would say with consumer trade AMZN & heavy machinery sales CAT recovering, its a matter of time before other sectors slowly create jobs too.

I'm betting my $ on green shoots growing icon_rolleyes.gif December christmas sales ought to give some indication.

imo for this range trading, options won't help, as direction still uncertain, it'll just decay its time value

Sulifei, is the BAC band reflective of C's condition now ?

Microsoft posted a lower profit but the stock is soaring. Odd.  : doh.gif

Microsoft profit falls 18%, but results better than expected
*
The key word is "better than expected". biggrin.gif

Sometimes, investors look for "projected" outlook. Windows 7 is expected to give Microsoft a boost for earnings next quarters, therefore some people are buying into their rally as well.

IMO, Micrsoft has been lamer lately. I had MSFT in my long portfolio as well but I swapped it out with CSCO instead after it has been such a poor performer for the past 5-6 months.

I'm long CSCO now for the tech diversification. I'm hoping to sell part of CSCO later and trade with AAPL later. biggrin.gif

Banks did make money.. but some of the older loans or non-adjustable or those mortgages are that under water still weighing down a lot of banks balance sheet.

New home buyers trying to beat the November deadline for rebate. After Nov, I don't think the new home sales will be sustainable. Much like this car for clunkers deal in Aug/Sept. After the rebate is over, not much momentum anymore.

What do you guys use to buy US stocks???

I have both iTrade cross border account, and Zecco.

I was wondering which one should I opt for...???

I am abit concern about funding money to Zecco, and withdraw, since everything's oversea, is it safe???

With iTrade, I know their headquarter is in Singapore, does that mean my money will be changed to SGD and then USD??? In general, iTrade cross border, is the cost higher than online broker???

For some reason even though GE beat estimates, the stock super tanked. Now i'm not sure if to take the lost or continue holding for long.
Bought at 16.79

Yes, market has too much caffeine but.. some people are also nervous at this level.

If Dow can break above 10100 and S&P above 1100, then we may see another leg up.
We may need to continue to see more sustainable good earnings at all front all the way till middle of November.

IMO, market is already trading at 7-8 months ahead of positive earnings at this level.

It will be too funny if next quarter, or after Christmas sales continue to be dismayed, we'll see mad sell off at the end of this year.

If you read back a couple of pages including from page one, several people here already share their experience with the different brokerage that they are using or like or dislike. Just go back to page 1 and read from there.
Yes, it is time consuming but this info already been posted.

Hopefully that helps! biggrin.gif

Now, remember to BUY the dip!

As mentioned by Zaman and me, this market is on high caffeine now.

Watch for DOW... if it dips below 10K, definitely strong BUY!
If it spikes close to 10100, just SELL some to make some money.

Trade the range! But, of course, you must know what the range of your fav stocks first lah!
Study the chart, price range and compare with DJI and S&P.

Post your trade if you wish to share. tongue.gif

Good luck!

All rounder the best right now is OptionHouse but not for non-US..

Cheap n okay : SOGO, but slow in opening account.
Just2trade : now I upgrade their rating to 2.5 star. The Java platform now alive and kicking. But using too much CPU time/power. My fan keep spinning hard. Same on other machine.
Best all-rounder for me : MBTrading. 4.95$ per trade, good pre-market/after market ECN.. Customer service fast n very prompt.

If its not for day trade, any Broker is okay.

LOL< every one asking the question. I cannot answer that. Have you withdraw from your xxx broker? If you are not comfortable with those scenario, open with mega banks. They charge from $25-45 per trade or use local bank/broker which offer US market such like CIMB.
