Apple and most tech stocks won't disappoint this 3rd quarter.  I have no position in Apple at this time but will consider to buy a little on pullback on long. Price target for Apple (1 year) will be around $250.

Iphone -> continues to make money for Apple for years to come.

yup, im thinking d same as well. Buy on dip. I may get x50...

Good day, sulifeisgreat & all here.....

myself is noobie here & really hope u do not close this thread down....
i am sure there are many who like myself, are just getting into the investing arenas & have yet to familiarise ourselves with the US markets... thus we remain rather quiet even though we singgah this thread almost everyday to get the latest updates....

anyway, i really enjoy learning from the guys here as there are many trading terms & methods which I have yet to learn & it really open up my horizons...
personally, i am one of those so call "buffett-wannabe" as i do prefer the long term fundamental analytical approach with little or minimal risk style.... i got more involved in KLSE in June 09 & ever since then, has been crunching many numbers & statements & i must say, it does give us a snapshot of what is happening in the respective field of business....

right now, i am trying to learn the other school of investing, ie trading (short term & largely volatile)..... i am not entirely enticed by the quick profits or "fast money"(as some would call it in layman terms).... but to learn it so that i can look at shares from another perspective & trade when i am ready (at least with a sizeable capital)...

if possible, i would like to combine both long term investing & short term trading to create something of an optimal investment portfolio for myself in time to come......

anyway, DJ is 10k above...!! happy trading!!

good call. the best approach is to open 2 trading accounts with 2 different brokers.

1 for short term, one for long term. Hence, you won't see all your counters in one account. Better in that sense. If you want to play short term. then use another broker. That's my approach.

DOG is still over 10K but wounded, holding to clear 10,100.

MGM - wow. IPO factor?
LVS - up down, swing babe, swing!
GE - the wounded big DOG
UAUA -oooo wahhhhh..

I mention my strategy earlier:

I bought a bundle of 4 or 5 very high risk stock. I will be out whenever it move 5% down or 20% up.
It work for me after the crash.....but lately I had to cut twice in a row... which is bad...

Added on October 20, 2009, 10:52 pmToday the air;ines are up
UAUA, AMR, JBLU. CAL, but LUV a bit down.
That can be an indication oil is going down

noted some of the posters replies & since there r lurkers around, we'll do wat we can to keep it alive along with the old timer & regular sifus hmm.gif

u might consider medium term investing too
well, hope u all dun get stuck in reading books or virtual trade forever
coz the thread needs a two way traffic for it to be alive & not remain in icu whistling.gif
the only way to learn, is to put down cold real hard cash, then suddenly all ur virtual trading style & books theory fly out the window
ur emotions will take over. a 10 sen drop wil make u sweat. fear & greed is now ur new frens every time u see the stock or sleeping at night
make sure the capital r ur savings that u r willing to let it all burnt...haha
the day when u can take emotions out of trading, is a day that u learn something new
have fun sweat.gif

anyway, just swing traded bcrx & cksw, since no idea whther it can go higher or not? i took my profit & run liao

can u all see the set up of the chart & y it could be swing traded? understand its a bit difficult rclxub.gif
but after u have run thru thousand of charts & traded some of them, u would be to feel a swing trade or breakout
by combining techincal & fundamental analysis, with ur personal analisis
ur success or failure would depend very much on the self performance & effort u r willing to put in blink.gif
of coz u might go around hitting walls, so thats y the internet is around for us to share & exchange knowledge
