no, i said tunecard is not international card. not sure bout pb visa electron though.. maybe its international because of the word " visa electron"

for paypal -currency conversion fee is 2.5% for card issued others than paypal currency..
for tunemoney - currency conversion fee is +0.5% , dont know which 1 they use though..

ive been charge 1.95usd=Rm7.42 myself..personally i care less bout 1.95 usd charge, the charge will be debit to our paypal account when we making 1st transaction via paypal..

I think the extra charges is tune card FEE, not a bonus 3.75 exchange rate.

I like to share my experience using Tunemoney.

I paid the deposit via post office. ammount was rm50,

after getting the card and activating it, I saw my balance 50 duducted by 9.99, which is the annual fee. so balance is 40.01. Suddenly after a few days (if not weeks) i checked it again and saw 39.01. I checked the transaction and there was no proof of anything charged Rm1.

Is this the so called hidden charge that they claim they dont have???

i emailed them regarding this issue weeks ago, no answer. and balance is still the same.

yesterday i reloaded using fpx using maybank2u ammounting rm110, flawless transaction. instant update!. looking foward to shop online using paypal - > debit card

i wonder if any of you done this before. what is the exchange rate like?

i cant login to tunemoney today, page doesnt even load!

Hello guys, new here - this thread, this forum. laugh.gif

Anyway, I've apply for tunecard as well, pretty smooth except for the 'first name-last name\surname part' (tongue.gif), did my initial reload through CIMB a day later, paid the RM 2 fee, fetched my card from the post office after more than 8 days, paid the RM 3 fee and then activated my card the same day and finally reloaded the card through FPX... And did my first ever online purchase through Amazon.

So intially I have the minimum amount in my account -
Initial amount: RM 40.01 (minus the annual fee - RM 9.99)
Reload: RM 100.00
#Amount: RM 140.01

Online Transaction(Amazon): US$ 20.47 or RM 66.35 (exchange rate approximately US$1 = RM 3.25 that day)

An amount of RM 66.58 (included shipping + the 0.5% tunecard rates) was deducted from my account.

Which leaves me now with a cleared amount of RM 73.43

So, the problem I am facing now is,
1)I couldn't login to my tunecard account (yesterday - like what Manusia80 mentioned above )
2)I can't reload since I can't login to my cimbclicks account through FPX.

This is the error I am getting... tongue.gif

Internet Banking Login error:- RMI Error - Could not find RMIEngine: Connection refused to host: 172.29.16.219; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

I've sent emails to CIMB, tunemoney and even MEPS, no respond yet except for a delivery failed because mailbox is full from postmaster@tunemoney...

This sucks since I'm gonna miss the Amazon 50% discount sale... But well, I might be better off saving my money... laugh.gif

Edited:

Problem fixed now, got myself some replies from Mr CEO and the tunemoney team and and looks like it's a glitch with CIMB's internet banking which I have gotten a respond as well.

Well, my missing RM 1 is still a mystery. I got no answer as of yet regarding that matter. Anyway, I used tune money officially yesterday. made a purchase from ebay through paypal > tunemoney visa card.

I was amazed by the rate. no extra charges apart from the 0.5% conversion rate set by tune money. which makes it 3.25 compared to 3.24. which is not much even if you're buying big. amazingly no fees from paypal. im using a basic account, FYI.

bottom line is, if i'm buying paypal funds from someone, its gonna be much lower than 3.25 thats for sure! (Hope my seller read this)

So did ya get the RM1 back yet?

You should try emailing tunemoney again but this time try these mailing addresses here since their mailbox is inconveniently full currently... whistling.gif

dhashini.seeritharan@tunemoney.com

or directly to the CEO of tunemoney...

tengkuzafrul@tunemoney.com

I haven't try activating my Paypal with my tunecard though...

When you guys talk about paypal and tunecard, that's putting RM into paypal or taking paypal dollars out as RM?

Jeff Ooi posted a few days ago about Paypal not allowing money to be taken out as RM, so who's right?

It's amazing to see Malaysians, who stay in the country but have been earning PayPal credits through their online activities, are transferring their Greenbacks to Jeff 4 Malaysia! (I will figure out later how to mobilise the money as PayPal doesn't repatriate money into any Malaysian banks!

You can withdraw to the card (eg. tunemoney visa card) with 5usd charge applied.. will be in RM in ur card..u can use either withdraw the money from atm or use the card as it afterwards..

Alternatives? go for alertpay, alertpay support Malaysian bank..that is deposit or withdraw..

Close the window and try again. (don't worry, as long as you haven't login to your bank account, there won't be any transfer...)

So it's either FPX fault or the server of the bank ya using (most likely)... Are you using CIMBclicks...?

The missing RM1 is done by VISA..I hv the same experience with Alrajhi Debit Visa...the RM1 is the minimum transaction value for PAYPAL to use to determine yr account..

Ok... lets put it this way.... when u add yr VISA number to PAYPAL... PAYPAL will need to determione if u hv passed the age .... only age 21 and above can use VISA/MC over PAYPAL.... so PAYPAL need to verify yr age by doing a RM1 (minimum value on RM over VISA network) charge to your VISA...if this transaction go thru, mean u r verified and yr card can be used.....

After 1 month time, Alrajhi Bank return me the RM1... probably PAYPAL do a reverge charge back or debit back lah...

the RM1 just for this purpose.... lucky it is RM1 and not USD1.

Personally, the best way to reload is using fpx meps online. Only rm0.50 deducted and u will get the topup asap..
my previous prob already solve =]

any other BANK based VISA/MC debit or prepaid is better than TUNEMONEY with reasons below:-

1) EXPENSIVE TO CALL TUNEMONEY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! 600 numbers! DAMN F***KING EXPENSIVE!

2) EMAIL THE CS, no reply!

3) ALL CHARGES!!! like AIRASIA... at the end, come out with much expensive using TUNECARD than PBB VISA ELECTRON, ALRAJHI BANK DEBIT VISA, EON BANK COMBI DEBIT MASTERCARd, MOL EON BANK FREEDOM MC, etc...

DUN go to tunemoney...waste of time..

Your credit will update after 1 or 2 days or maybe 3. (Need to pass from CIMB to Tunecard, so it takes time.)

Reloading would be easy by using the FPX option which will take ya to ya CIMBclicks account. (It cheaper that the manual reload, 50 cents per reload instead of the 2 ringgit...)

Just found out that using Tunecard on Yesasia doesn't seem to work because they uses 'Verified by Visa', inputing the CVC code from the back of the Tunecard doesn't do anything except getting an error that the transaction was declined.... shakehead.gif I have no problem with Amazon since they don't use 'Verified by Visa'.
