Depends on your future,
You pretty much need a certification.

If you want to have good name and able to enroll to big hotel easily go for big name college, if you prefer lots of hands on, then just go for cilantro, they basically focus lots on practical.

Nah, your English is fine.
Hmmm. Base on the course outline for cilantro

http://www.cilantro.edu.my/index.php/en/di...aration-cooking

They basically fuel you with full practical, they also emphasize it 70% of the course is practical.

I strongly believe culinary art is used to define preparation of fine dining food.

I can share with you my experience, we cover many things in Culinary arts in Taylors

From Marketing, business law, food hygiene, menu planning and etc

40-50% of our course is practical and 40-50% is theory

It is mean for establishing business, or become a executive chef.

For my recommendation, since you have 6 years of kitchen experience.

I really think you should go for big colleges, in order for you to get those big hotel. If thats what you plan in future to climb the ladder

Really depends on your budget,
But in reality a cert still a cert, in a real world people look for your experience more than the certification.

Private uni with big names very expensive
A cert can let you progress to Sous or CDP
and Executive Chef with Degree cert.

you will still join as Commis 1/2.
but you will certainly progress faster than those with only SPM with cert

If your aim is to get certificate, then just go for cheaper school.
Cause in Hospitality, experience comes first over certificate.

It really depends on you, if you want to undergo full course, go for LCB and take a proper Diploma/ Cert
If you want fast, the 3 cert you've mention ( ive not so sure what isit about) 6 months. go for it, if you think it can helps to get you access hotel

Hi. My nephew would like to study Diploma in Culinary Art at KDU. Problem is his parent would only send him to KDU Penang as he has relatives here. KDU Penang offers Diploma in Professional Chef. Comparing the 2 courses program structures, they look almost the same but not quite. Would like to hear from real current or past students on what are the differences. If he take Professional Chef, what he would not learn from Culinary Art? He like to cook and want to work in the kitchen, not managing kitchen. Thanks.
