best go window shopping. look at those PC LCDs at shops, look at those TVs at shops and estimate the space needed to suit your room.

in terms of video quality, there is not much different between those 2? unsure.gif

Hey guys, I got a 50'inch Sony TV, here is the spec.

http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/P...oductId=1003131

However, it's not in LCD, so I am wondering whether if I am able to play PS3 in Full-HD. Or maybe worst, not HD at all? (Hope this is not true)

@casablanca2, i believe PC LCDs and TV LCDs are basically the same technology. i'm using BenQ 19" fp94vw and very happy with it.

@Xaphier, your TV supports 720p via HDMI - its good smile.gif

Meh.... so it's not Full-HD after all. Oh well, can't blame it for that, it's already around 3 years old anyway. Oh by the way, 720p and 1080p/1080i has huge difference?

Sony 3LCD is expensive to maintain. last time I checked with Sony, each lamp cost above 2k, and it has 3 lamps attached inside tv.

52-inch lcd tv above 20k

^what brand/model LCD you using?

if u use HMDI-DVI cable, just set 480p and 720p in the PS3 display setting. i don't understand why you are getting 576p. 576p should be PAL signal.

Yes, true. The lamp could not even last more than 10K hours. Better opt for plasma or LCD TV.

Bro, sorry to jump in like this, and sorry for the noob question. sweat.gif Would like to ask. A widescreen PC LCD monitor basically has an aspect ratio of 16:10(compared to a widescreen LCD TV which is 16:9), rite? So, does the image usually appear stretched for the LCD monitor? Is it too obvious? sweat.gif

On the same PS3, yes. It did back-up for me.

In other words, there was no different whatsoever to my PS3 after the HDD upgrade. The only difference is the HDD size.

Hope it will work for you to.

I made some mistake during the restore process. I choosed "Restore PS3 System" from the menu and it wiped all my user/accounts/settings.. However after the proper restoring process (from the Backup menu" all the lost/reset data was restored.. So the system really backs up user data hmm.gif .. I created an OtherOS partition after installing new HDD, however after restoring process, the partition seems to be lost.. sad.gif
