Hey guys........I'm currently a student in the UK, and I am really confused with this AP mumbo jumbo, so I really need your help If I do get an AP, does it mean that the car I'm importing from the UK will be EXEMPTED FROM TAX? (as in RM0) Thx for your help Edit : Oh dear I've just read the previous posts and looks like it's gonna be a whole SHITLOAD of tax This post has been edited by FatFish: Mar 24 2010, 04:58 AM

Hi guys Im a malaysian currently in the UK and would have qualified for the 'Programme to Encourage Malaysian Citizens with Expertise Residing Overseas to Return to Malaysia' thing. Ive been reading this thread at one go and like many others cant help but being slightly confused as to how it works. I suppose my ultimate question is that, if I were to buy a car from here, in addition to the cost of the car itself as well as the shipping from UK to Msia, will there be any other cost pertaining to it? ie will the tax be absolutely zero under this programme? If anybody (I saw quite a number of knowledgeable ppl here lol) could enlighten me on this i will be extremely grateful many thanks

Yup, I'm from the States and can't wait to go back to Malaysia . I already called MITI office and they said that I can use my P license to bring the bike back home. Ain't that nice . Now all I need to do is prepare the cash to pay the tax

Selling AP/car would be troublesome.... the car has to be under your name for 2 years after importation.. before you can transfer the ownership (As will be stated on your registration card).
