depend on the freshness of the bamboo as well. if still greeny probably not so easy, plus those wet pulut can prevent the temperature from going to high. but if already dried up like in those on the building, much easier.

before gas is common, dried burning bamboo memang can become source of heat to cook.

The manufacturer will be held accountable if the contractor bought netting that are specified non-flammable but turn out to be otherwise.

But as for now its all speculation but i would not be surprised if the truth will be never be known as there is too much at stake here.

The netting and styrofoams were first to burn, but the bamboo is the one that sustained the fire. Of course bamboo harder to burn, but when it burns it burns long time causing fire to spread. Its hollow structure can also allow fire and heat to travel along the poles, spreading the fire vertically and horizontally.

bamboo burns after reaching a threshold temperature, if i'm not wrong it is around 200-300C. Your lemang bbq doesn't reach that temperature. But the fire is caused by the netting burning continuously and hit the threshold.

bamboo is not entirely to blame, but it is one of the risks. The big fire is unfortunately an adage of Murphy's Law.
