QUOTE(kenny B @ Nov 30 2025, 03:38 PM) depend on the freshness of the bamboo as well. if still greeny probably not so easy, plus those wet pulut can prevent the temperature from going to high. but if already dried up like in those on the building, much easier. plus those material tie up the bamboo probably also flammable before gas is common, dried burning bamboo memang can become source of heat to cook. hk side many koyak because this time around kena prc say 2025 already still using bamboo. face gone. ya you can say the net burn more easily compare to the bamboo, but whatever keeping the fire for so long was the bamboo. another thing is, if bamboo so good why only left hk using? bamboo sifu who tie up the bamboos rice bowl need to jaga. QUOTE(The Retailer @ Nov 30 2025, 01:05 PM) Whatever china material they using, the main con sure kena… i think no matter what they has to be the main stakeholder.. Like last year got some aircraft door malfunction in france, also mau blame china😅 Can your surgeon blame china if surgery fail? QUOTE(Computer^freak @ Nov 30 2025, 01:27 PM) The net is likely made in China but isnt the one putting up the net should be held responsible than the manufacturer ? Donnie got a dumb wife. The manufacturer will be held accountable if the contractor bought netting that are specified non-flammable but turn out to be otherwise. But as for now its all speculation but i would not be surprised if the truth will be never be known as there is too much at stake here. The netting and styrofoams were first to burn, but the bamboo is the one that sustained the fire. Of course bamboo harder to burn, but when it burns it burns long time causing fire to spread. Its hollow structure can also allow fire and heat to travel along the poles, spreading the fire vertically and horizontally.
Stupiak hongkies still defending their bamboo culture. This post has been edited by Supreme1394: Nov 30 2025, 05:09 PM |

QUOTE(kenny B @ Nov 30 2025, 03:38 PM) bamboo burns after reaching a threshold temperature, if i'm not wrong it is around 200-300C. Your lemang bbq doesn't reach that temperature. But the fire is caused by the netting burning continuously and hit the threshold.bamboo is not entirely to blame, but it is one of the risks. The big fire is unfortunately an adage of Murphy's Law. |

QUOTE(iamSUSUman @ Nov 30 2025, 02:04 PM) There are some who believe the authorities are pushing the bamboo narrative in order to close the case quickly. There were already complaints about the bamboo, the netting and the contractors for the past year, but the local politician (Peggy Wong) had dismissed them out of hand. |

if she just put non-compliant netting still ok, why must put made in China? 1000 and 1 things are made in China now, they have compliant and non-compliant type it is the contractor to choose which to use. does she meant if made in other countries they are all compliant? blame it on the contractor not the country who made it.
