I guess rural area still not getting the coverage. After I went back from KL to my hometown, my phone keep connecting to 4G+ network. Which is kinda weird because last 6 months there was 5G network.

You can verify if anyone else is able to get 5G. It's all the same coverage (for 5G). This post has been edited by Epic_winner091: Oct 6 2025, 09:47 PM my44 liked this post

QUOTE(CrimsOn ChAos @ Oct 6 2025, 09:33 PM) Wait a minute, for the past month I stuck with 4G due to Maxis not renewing their 5G lease?!! Maxis should have notified the customers from earlier. I am deliberately not using 5G but I am able to use Maxis 5G if I want my44 liked this post

QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Oct 6 2025, 10:42 PM) and can see the maxis 4g is far more stable than 5g ExactlyDNB's 5G is overly congested these days especially at crowded location like Bukit Bintang It's barely usable while Maxis 4G is smooth like butter iXora.ix liked this post

QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Oct 6 2025, 10:42 PM) and can see the maxis 4g is far more stable than 5g The speed of 4G in my area is now very similar to 5G (in fact even faster) - 5G has become overly congested with around 20-40Mbps at times.4G still have 60-80Mbps. Where I work in KL, LTE is often faster than 5G despite getting full bars.

Personally, I do hope U Mobile 5G is able to ease out some DNB congestion. However, it seems this is still barely the case because U Mobile 4G coverage is still not as good as Maxis and CelcomDigi, so most still refrain to switch despite able to access to its own 5G + DNB 5G.

QUOTE(NagaK @ Oct 4 2025, 11:08 PM) So that means finally Maxis going to offer better indoor coverages? Which is where lacking for many years Maxis is still far far superior compared to Celcom & Digi. Especially in rich Klang valley areas Until now Suria KLCC m&s only got edge for Celcom haha Umobile coverage good la but just too congested with the Banglas |

Before that, Digi actually worked the best in my area - even when they later improved the performance the merged CelcomDigi 4G, it is still poorer than of Maxis 4G. |

CD after merger speed increase a lot in jb, usually can get 200mbps and above, meanwhile maxis is getting worst usually around 80 to 100+ mbps (previously at my house simply can go up to 300mbps). meanwhile 5g under DNB is useless here.

My personal experience (In Northern Puchong and Subang with Southern PJ)
Other than my uni's faculty in Cyberjaya (where Celcom 4G signal worsen significantly after using Digi infrastructure, the site location is not optimal), Celcom basically have improved quite a lot in both average signal strength and speed. Maxis has decline very little overall but still very usable. Indoor commercial building coverage wise, CelcomDigi has really shine except like Summit USJ (Maxis indoor carpark better), pretty much everywhere I get better CelcomDigi signal, (either CelcomDigi 4G+, Maxis 4G or CelcomDigi 4G+, Maxis No Signal) But in terms of high-rise residential, they both are mixed bag, alongside with U Mobile, some CelcomDigi better, some Maxis, some U Mobile. No clear winner, by it is almost surely that your home fibre Internet is the winner. IOI Putrajaya, I somehow get better speed on CelcomDigi than Maxis despite Maxis having pRRU (except some parts of ground floor where Maxis deployed pRRU). Pretty much any places else CelcomDigi tends to perform better with its MIMO DAS. |
