Its good for its price but its nowhere as good as Dyson when it comes to suction power.

Dibes makes alot of noise but the suction not strong

The performance difference is only 10%

90% is matter of vanity

Whats expensive is the labour costs & the R&D behind Dyson technology . The part is cheap because its from China. The electronics look simple because Dyson have invested huge R&D to make it simple.

Dyson is assembled in Malaysia , parts from China but they follow strictly the technology & manuals from Dyson

U want cheap, can just buy the part from Shopee and fix yourself. Less than 400

I am using Dyson as well. Best vacuum i have ever used
*
I worked in factory. I can know how much it cost to make one. The R&D cost maybe high during development time but then reduced over time because basic circuitry design is the same. However, Dyson has many engineers to pay salary for each different models and groups of product but many share the same basic design. The circuitry is not complex like product from other customers of us. We are also involved in giving feedback to Dyson on maneuverability (DFM) during design stage.

I'm not saying those buy Dyson is stupid or anything but for me it is just not good for price/value for me.

yeah not v8.

v12 downgrade from v11? Havent study yet
*
V12 focused on mobility and portability, not to say a downgrade, more like a version that is smaller, lighter but do not compromise a lot in suction power despite being downsized.
As compared to their smaller Digital Slim version which is much weaker

And the Laser light from V12 is very good yo.

You cant just count the raw material costs. There are so many other costs

R&D costs
Manufacturing plant costs
Raw materials costs
Labour costs
Licensing costs
Salaries
Utilities costs
Logistics costs
Marketing costs
Etc etc

U lucky la bro. Mine 5 years ++ but I dont use everyday. I have DC38 which is around 8-9 years kot, still running strong.

Teringat my dad old vacuum by Electrolux the long type model. I remember dad using it since I kindergarten and last raya I pull it under the bed, still working and sucking. Wish modern vacuum can last like that.
*
Those were the days when Dyson was highly reliable and giving out 5 years warranty. Nowadays they only dare to give 2 years warranty since they know problem will start coming after the 2nd year.

I clean it once every few months. But notice the motor sound is louder after some time. So I just changed the new filter and the noise is lower. Been 5 years coming to 6.

My another dyson is coming to 3rd year, but this is used less so I didn't change the filter.

But I think the biggest reason for motor kaput is water. It could be a small drop of water on the floor that you accidentally missed and suck in.

Manufacturing plant cost, Raw Material Cost, Labor Cost, Licensing Cost, etc are not under Dyson costs already because they outsource the PCBA and complete assembly. These are under the contract manufacturer. Logistic, Marketing, etc are generally the same like other manufacturer with similar products. Main cost for Dyson is basically R&D.

I used to work in a US company with staff around 100 person only, producing telecommunication product. The PCBA and other mechanical parts are being outsource. Final assembly and testing is done in company factory. We were making like USD30 mil. I would say huge margin compare to cost because product is not end consumer product but communication industry players. Provide 2 years warranty. Unlike end consumer products, you do not need to come up with new model every year like smartphone laugh.gif

I'd say Dyson has established to put its name as luxury item like Apple. Marketing is good so the consumer are willing to pay to its price. smile.gif

My dad also have an old Electrolux vacuum cleaner, metal body too. Still going on strong.

But the real reason those machines last, is when compared to say Dyson, it's suction power is nowhere near Dyson. Dyson's motor is a real precision engineering when compared to most old vacuum cleaner.

But to me it's worth it. After using a few cordless vacuum, nothing come close to Dyson.

Dyson strongest suction , but need good maintenance .
Because their filtration system is good , every dust is contain inside the vacuum and the filters.

Therefore frequent maintenance of filter and overhaul cleaning required every 1-2 years.

The important is, do not suck fine concrete dust or those construction dust.

This dust is abrasive and easily go into the bearing, wear the fan fin, motor etc.

No vacuum can survive for long.
