Morning all

Finally, my Dyson v11 not working anymore after 5 years as the motor make 'duhh duhh duhh' sound when press the buttton.

Send it to non-authorized service center and they quote me 900++ to change the motor.
Anyone change the motor by yourself before? Coz I found the motor in Shopee original around 400+ and compatible around 200+ only.
Wanna know if there any successful story here changed the motor before, coz I have all the tools.

Scared to check Dyson service center in TTDI, sure the repair price almost as new.

I m using V11.

Change the motor and the trigger button cost me RM750 from Dyson service center in TTDI.

Look like the non-authorized service center is even worst. Crazy.

Dyson strongest suction , but need good maintenance .
Because their filtration system is good , every dust is contain inside the vacuum and the filters.

Therefore frequent maintenance of filter and overhaul cleaning required every 1-2 years.
*
The important is, do not suck fine concrete dust or those construction dust.

This dust is abrasive and easily go into the bearing, wear the fan fin, motor etc.

No vacuum can survive for long.

Yes. For this purpose buy cheap wet dry type  biggrin.gif

Any vacuum that suctions air into fine bubbles though water as filtering agent instead of fiber? I think this will keep constant suction power?
*
Water as filtering reduce the dust in the container from flying around. That can prolong the vacuum lifespan.

But heavy and mess to clean. You're dragging and carrying a few liter of water+vacuum.

Have to clean everytime after vacuum. If not the filter like a cake stuck with a layer of dirt. That will block the suction.

Nowaday, people want convenience and light. Handheld vacuum is popular now compared to the container cord type. So kena careful what you suck. biggrin.gif

Really haaa.. not sure coincident or your theory is true.
My 5 years old v11 kaput after I moved in to a new house. As new house sure got alot of concrete dust around and I use v11 to clean it.

This weekend I will try to take out the motor and update this topic.

I use a lot of vacuum to suck all this. And yes, it won't survive long. No matter what brand and how strong is it.

So if you want to vacuum such dust or new house, get a cheap cord vacuum with bag type. Like Panasonic bag type cost less then RM300.

It's my experience. Not theory.
