QUOTE(WongTheThief @ Jun 10 2025, 09:33 AM) Don't fall for V8. I almost fell for the cheap offer during 6.6. The comment section says it's heavy and has to keep pressing the button to use it until finger pain. What kind of design is that. get xiaomi g20 max with better suction than that crappy v8. |

Did DIY change motor from Shopee for V10. Not too difficult when following YouTube. There is only a part bending the thick battery connector requires some skill, but the rest is fairly simple. Make sure you got the tool for Dyson special screw.

QUOTE(ozak @ Jun 10 2025, 07:08 PM) The important is, do not suck fine concrete dust or those construction dust. Yes. For this purpose buy cheap wet dry type This dust is abrasive and easily go into the bearing, wear the fan fin, motor etc. No vacuum can survive for long. Any vacuum that suctions air into fine bubbles though water as filtering agent instead of fiber? I think this will keep constant suction power? |

QUOTE(Zot @ Jun 11 2025, 07:58 AM) Yes. For this purpose buy cheap wet dry type Water as filtering reduce the dust in the container from flying around. That can prolong the vacuum lifespan. Any vacuum that suctions air into fine bubbles though water as filtering agent instead of fiber? I think this will keep constant suction power? But heavy and mess to clean. You're dragging and carrying a few liter of water+vacuum. Have to clean everytime after vacuum. If not the filter like a cake stuck with a layer of dirt. That will block the suction. Nowaday, people want convenience and light. Handheld vacuum is popular now compared to the container cord type. So kena careful what you suck. |

This dust is abrasive and easily go into the bearing, wear the fan fin, motor etc. No vacuum can survive for long. My 5 years old v11 kaput after I moved in to a new house. As new house sure got alot of concrete dust around and I use v11 to clean it. This weekend I will try to take out the motor and update this topic. |

QUOTE(say_xtr @ Jun 10 2025, 09:20 AM) Morning all I got same issue. Cost me around 550-750 back in Dyson SC to change the board. Its board issue and CONSIDERED KNOWN ISSUE. Ur lucky its happened after 5 years. I got mine after 3 yearsFinally, my Dyson v11 not working anymore after 5 years as the motor make 'duhh duhh duhh' sound when press the buttton. Send it to non-authorized service center and they quote me 900++ to change the motor. Anyone change the motor by yourself before? Coz I found the motor in Shopee original around 400+ and compatible around 200+ only. Wanna know if there any successful story here changed the motor before, coz I have all the tools. Scared to check Dyson service center in TTDI, sure the repair price almost as new. |

Like Panasonic bag type cost less then RM300. It's my experience. Not theory. This post has been edited by ozak: Jun 11 2025, 09:22 AM |

My v11 last 5 years because I gave TLC to it. Never allow my maid and kids to use it except I used it to suck the concreate dust once move to new house. So when it fail, I feel really disappointed. Thanks bro |

QUOTE(Choongster @ Jun 10 2025, 09:34 PM) you never use dyson v8 before also , how you know crappy ? u know that in life you don't have to experience shitty things to know it is shitty. Just spend some time reading the review section will give you an idea what the product is like.press button until pain ? then don't buy normal vacuum , just but robot mop .. then what pain also don't have If i need to keep pressing the button to make it work, to me it is crap. If i need to keep pressing the rice cooker button to cook rice, then it's badd design. Normal vacuum that i use so far just press on once. Not keep pressing. Maybe u have been buying things that need to be pressed continuously to work and don't know that the market has better options to press once. |

Unless I use v11 to vacuum the whole house might be im a no brainer. If i need to keep pressing the button to make it work, to me it is crap. Dyson owner not that stupid as you imagine, we appreciate the suction power compare others. I wont turn on a switch to suck a small dirt done by my kids for only 2-3 seconds. Dont bring a rice cooker into the discussion and do comparison, mcm tak kena. Hahhaha should tag the topic 'Dyson Owner' only. This post has been edited by say_xtr: Jun 12 2025, 09:27 AM |

Get the cheaper dyson ball to vacuum the whole house...
the cordless v8 v11 are great to take out to vacuum the car... or vacuum a bit of hair at the corner of the room, instead of pulling the heavy vacuum and unwinding the cord to clean a little bit |

QUOTE(say_xtr @ Jun 12 2025, 09:58 AM) Exactly bro .... but problem is for those people that just move into new condo, want to buy a vacuum cleaner, spend 1k buy a handheld dyson thinking to use it for the whole house....This is example when your brain sell well connected .. Do you need the v11 to turn on the whole time like the rice cooker??? I dont think so... thinking more expensive should be better then the cheaper traditional dyson ball. |
