seriously this year iphone Air is very appealing. So far the only deal breaker is USB 2.0 only.

QUOTE(HumanExtinction @ Sep 10 2025, 02:42 AM) ic. but i think speaker i can accept. most of the time i use earpiece with my iphone when outdoor. usb 2.0 is a deal breaker becos i dun buy icloud+, i still use wired (usb cable) to backup my iphone to computer. so usb 2.0 will make a difference. but come to think i mostly backup once a month or 2. so maybe still can bear with it. |

USB 2.0, single speaker, lesser battery life, single rear camera… you really really really must want the thinness if you’re willing to sacrifice so much. I must confess it does look pretty though.
EdiT: Not sure about MYR pricing, but the magsafe battery is USD99. The Air starts at USD999, while the Pro starts at USD1099 Air with magsafe battery claimed 40hrs of video playback. Pro claimed 39hrs. So if you add the magsafe battery to the Air, you’re basically at Pro price, gain 1hr video playback but lose 2 cameras and stereo speakers. I must confess it does look pretty though. the single rear camera = dual camera in one system rite? so this one is not really a deal breaker. battery life to be fair only 3 hours lesser than iphone 17 = i find it acceptable, given how thin it is. the only suprise one maybe is the weight i think. It is rumoured that the iphone air is 145g or something but in real it is 165g. |

there's a new charging brick specifically for iphone 17 too The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is uniquely designed to dynamically deliver up to 60W of output, providing a powerful boost in charging speeds.¹ With Dynamic Power, you get many of the same benefits of higher-wattage chargers in a compact, pocket-size form factor to make charging at home, in the office, or on the go faster and more convenient than ever. For fast charging, pair the Dynamic Power Adapter with iPhone 17 models (50 percent battery in around 20 minutes) or iPhone Air (50 percent battery in around 30 minutes). ![]() QUOTE(ipohps3 @ Sep 10 2025, 02:49 AM) for film makers, definitely not for us peasantsThis post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Sep 10 2025, 03:16 AM prs516 liked this post

QUOTE(Baconateer @ Sep 10 2025, 08:45 AM) yes, no kidding. iPhone 16 → iPhone 17 (same $799 starting price) Storage: Doubled from 128 GB → 256 GB. Display: Larger 6.3" OLED with 120 Hz ProMotion, up to 3,000 nits brightness. Durability: New Ceramic Shield 2, 3× better scratch resistance. Cameras: 48 MP Dual Fusion main camera, 18 MP front camera w/ Center Stage, plus Dual Capture video (front + back). Performance: New A19 chip (≈50% faster), plus N1 networking chip w/ Wi-Fi 7 + BT 6. Battery/Charging: Longer life (≈+11 hrs video), 25 W MagSafe, 50% in ~20 min. Bottom line: iPhone 17 brings more storage, brighter & smoother screen, stronger glass, big camera boost, faster chip + Wi-Fi 7 — all while keeping the same price as the 16.
