Hi all the sifus.. Been a avid Samsung user since Note 2, then all the Notes series except the explosive one. Jumped ship 2 years ago due to green screen in a fairly new phone.
Now I am back with a Samsung S25 Ultra. But to my disappointment, the camera is even crappier than ever. Will updating to new UI solve this issue? Or using a 3rd party camera APP solve this? Looking at the camera roll, I really dare not share to anyone telling them this is from a top brand's flagship phone... No mood even just to pick up the phone and continue setup...

You came from which phone? I'm using S25+ which it's better than my old S21+ but not by much.

mind sharing some examples of photos and why do you think they are crappy? what camera mode are you using? what condition are you shooting in? what phone did you upgraded from?

Some shots from my recent trip

All shot using the standard mode with exposure adjustment. The cat pics are shot using portrait mode. These are straight from the phone without any edits, editing will definitely make them nicer.

While the result isn't exactly the best if you compare to Chinese flagships, I still think they are flagship level quality especially if you compare to iPhone or Pixel.

Wow yours is amazing!

I took some shots indoor after took the phone home, really terrible. After some shots and comparing to a mid range OPPO phone, was so mad that I had the S25U factory resetted. No eye see. Pictures are very grainy, and very AI when enlarged. The night shot really wanna pengsan. And like usual, trying to take a picture of my blood donation needles hole still CMI.

All shots using normal camera, no touch any settings. Point and shoot saja.

Maybe i try to turn it on again and try some shots again later...

find it hard to believe the photos are worse compared to a mid range phone... but I do have my own complaints about the camera especially when shooting close up shots

the camera will auto switch to the ultra wide angle lens when you are in 1x mode and trying to shoot close ups, and that uses a 50mp sensor which is very inferior compared to the main wide angle 200mp sensor. Compare shots taken with the UWA lens vs WA lens, there's a significant difference in quality

nowadays i tend to use 2x more especially for close up shots like food to avoid the camera switching to the ultra wide angle

as for settings, I set Quality optimisation to Maximum and turned off 'Scene Optimiser'. I also downloaded 'Camera Assistant' (part of Good Lock) for further settings

Coming from S22Ultra I wasn't happy too at first but I have learn to accept it. S25's photos looks more natural now without the crisp effect. There was incremental improvement with the camera especially on night photos (with a little adjustment). I downloaded Camera Assistant and went on YT to seek guidance on some of the camera settings which I've not done before. (still not happy with front facing camera though) dry.gif

the one thing I noticed is the camera always tend to overexpose by default, which makes some photos look washed out. manually adjusting the exposure (by holding down a spot on your screen and dragging the exposure dial) can improve the result signifcantly.

another way is to set the general exposure to a value like -0.5 to -0.3, then in your camera settings > settings to keep > enable for Exposure. this way your camera will always under expose slightly to compensate for the default over exposure

I also just point and shoot actually. The only thing I'll play around as mentioned before is adjust the exposure. Just a 2 step thing.... hold a spot on your screen and drag the slider

Yeah that would work but I noticed sometimes it may cause the images to lose focus too. I did the same by adjusting the exposure before shooting the photos but when you zoom in the details were kinda crappy sweat.gif

I recently got myself Xreal One - a sunglass that projects display onto your vision.

Damn paired with S25 such a game changer. When cucuk the glasses onto the phone it activate DeX mode, I can then use with my Bluetooth kb and mouse. If not convenient to use kb+m at that time also I can use the phone as track pad and keyboard.

The Dex will appear as a single virtual screen in front of you? How flexible is the location/size of that screen?

Mind mentioning where, what price, and what warranty status you got for the xreal one? I read a bit about those sort of glasses and seems very cool.

1. Location is adjustable. Since Xreal One comes with basic headtracking, they have 3 dof, so you have with stable follow, anchor (where you designate where the screen should be), side (will be small thumbnail on either top left or top right that follow your head). I like Follow when I am watching stuff exclusively, anchor if I am multitasking and treating this as second screen, and Side when I am riding, for GPS.

2. Size is adjustable as well.

You can learn more here:

As to where to buy, I find this shop have physical and shopee shop: MYLO Trading. This shop also offer one year store warranty. As for price, I got mine for 2.1k but if dekat shopee same shop is selling 1.8k, maybe sebab voucher and stuff. But since I need one cepat I just got from the store.

If you need prescription lens like I do, you need to make sure the shop sells you the right frame model. Mylo Trading sells only Air2/Air2 Pro frame, luckily I realise before I make the lens. Oh yea you need to bring the frame to the spectacle shop yourself, I found a shop in Sg Wang that can do it cheap and fast.

From your photos it seems too underexposed already. Usually for night scenes underexposing is not necessary unless you have very bright spots

If there's not much fast moving objects using night mode may create better results. But sometimes i notice weird artifacts or patterns in the sky especially around bright objects using night mode.
