Agreed. Personally, I'd go for TG.

Scratches on the screen are worth a few hundred ringgit during trade-in time.

Exactly when I take off my phone casing and screen protector it’s totally scratchless and you are right you get better trade in value

Just wanted to share my experience of trading in an old phone when I ordered from Samsung official store. Handed the phone to Comp Asia on 6th March. The guy who came was quite friendly, noticed a very slight dent but gave the full value quoted by Samsung store. Told me I was quite lucky since a lot of people's phones have screen problems.

The payment was very slow though, I only received payment yesterday (27 March) after contacting the guy who came and asking him to check with HQ. So if you guys want to trade in, gotta be ready to wait for about three weeks for payment.

I waited around 3 weeks for my payment. However, I suspect it's because of how efficient or disciplined the collection agent/branch is. Once I contacted them to say that I haven't received my payment yet, they straight away transferred on the same day.

So I'd recommend following up with them a week after drop-off to speed up the payment.

Its more like they forgot about your claim. I have traded in 3 devices now to CompAsia, the transfer happens immediately after the person comes to check and collect.

Think they recently update the policy. Previously I also trade in will get the money immediately. But last month I trade in 1 Samsung tab hv to wait 14 working days to get the money. Tried to email n WhatsApp chat both says the same. And I did get my money after 14 working days.

My tin-foil hat theory is that they try to sell the phone first so that they can roll the money to pay us. That way they don't have to use their own money to pay us haha...

Once, my "friend" traded in a S21 with the back falling off and the battery was bloating. So he went to Shopee to buy some random phone adhesive to reseal the back. For the battery, poked it a bit to let the air or whatever the heck it was that was causing the bloat and sealed it back.

The person who came to inspect didn't suspect anything and paid the full quoted value for a no damage S21.

Poking a li-ion battery? Your friend got balls lol

And he also created a dangerous hazard for whoever is gonna use or charge the phone next. A punctured battery is no laughing matter

if you track 2nd phone price often they usually lowball you a lot from general common price. They have an app will give them an estimate price so it's usually 30 to 50% lower than we sell user to user.

The box is also fully sealed, eventhough they mentioned will be unsealed for warranty purposes in their description

Not complaining though
