i once ask my hr to do a poll, whether staffs wan nice annual dinner + lucky draw OR gurentied cash + simple lunch (still must have some form of gathering to get everyone together gether kan).

Did they use a travel agency to organize the event ? Some HR would do from A to Z and some would pass the job to an agency to handle. If the agency did not advise them about weather condition then it is the agency's fault. They know better but they are greedy. They just want business. If the company insisted on going then it is the company's fault.

I wonder if the family members will sue the JKR or the agency?

The event company that organized this shd be sued. They onli want profit and not do a risk assessment before letting amateurs in the river.

One girl fell off from the raft and hit her leg, was writhing in pain and got carried back into raft. She cried all the way until the raft reached the downstream shore, killjoy. Everyone in the team no mood.

The swift current and the rocks beneath... trust me, even good swimmer cannot fight the current. Not to mention the rip current at certain depression in the river.

Even internally also, they will usually get an event company to do team building activities as HR, as usual useless.

If got 200K budget, just buy a Tesla and give it as a gift to lucky draw winner. If the winner does not wanna keep and resell to other people.

Rainy season stop all sorts of nature related recreation activity lah especially done at river, waterfall or hill. So many tragedy in recent years but ppl learned nothing.
