Two men and one woman were participating in a whitewater rafting activity on the Kampar River this afternoon when they were swept away by the strong currents of the river, resulting in the tragic death of all three.

A lot of Malaysians join these activities, will assume

1. the organisers must have thought of safety, if not won't organise one
2. the white water rafting operator experienced, sure no problem one

those familiar with the rapids n rivers (esp this time of the year) ought to know how a Class II can anytime turn to a V or VI

I think it will fall under the camp owner responsibility to advise if they should do the rafting or not due to the weather. in this case they failed to give proper advise and caused death.

Three drown after water surge on Sg Kampar hits white-water rafters.

IPOH: Three individuals lost their lives after drowning during a water rafting activity at Sungai Kampar on Friday.

The Perak Fire and Rescue director Sayani Saidon said that the department received a call at 5.56pm on Friday (Nov 15).

"The victims were part of a team-building program involving 22 participants from Central Seberang Perai (SPT), Penang and Langkawi Public Works Department, along with six guides who went down to the river area starting at 3.30pm.
