my opinion.... at that price range for compact cameras(comparing with other brands at the same price range).
FS3 is 100% satisfaction VALUE BUY.

points to take note:
at this price range, considerably lower end models. but on FS3, you still get to have leica lens in it.
although its not using wide angle lens, but for this price range again....
it slightly out-perform other brand same price range models with a 33mm angle lens. other brands provides a common 35mm. though both also not considered as wide angle... its not much but, its jus a small detail that i noticed....

Lumix is considerably quite generous providing us with world class lens, and practically... FS3 doesnt differ much with one lvl higher end model(FS5) in terms of functionality. still got a full function of IA, having the same image processor(venus IV) like higher end models. shutter speed of 8 ~ 1/2000

why Lumix can provide such good camera at this price range??
we dont see much Panasonic Lumix ads, commercials, or artist endorsement on TVs, newspaper, etc...., unlike Canon, Sony, Olympus....

just like fujifilm compacts...they're good but no marketing effort in malaysia.

well.... i was once a SONY fan..
frankly, i had a lot of sony stuffs. n for compact. i'm using W-series.
the brand name seriously affected my buy decisions...

frm my own personal usage experience, actually i'm onli satisfied with sony PSP and sony ericsson phones. thought now not using sony ericsson anymore.
camera wise.... ok la, not bad... up to standard

i've been working as a partime dgcam promoter in different camera shops for the pass few months and i certainly learned quite a lot. and get to test out all the cameras
average pay, and still get play around with all the nice gadgets.

all ppl come in ask for SONY, Canon, Nikon.... olympus...(in order of popularity)
for sure... foreign visiters, travelers will ask for SONY... and ONLI SONY

so far
SONY - brand name
Canon - reknowned brand in compacts n dslr
Nikon - good in dslr, but kinda lack of a bit in compacts
olympus - had been a steady brand in camera market. seems like more focus on marketing their waterproof, weather proof, splash proof, dust proof, shock proof, etc....

kodak, samsung, pentax, fujifilm, casio are less popular brands. while i think lumix is starting to get more market share during last year

the real cost price ar... u ask the boss or those panasonic distributors onli know lo.
me jus doing sales... if got chance can get stocks from distributors, i oso do some sales at garage sales ady.

nowadays.... handphone, gadgets, cameras.... watever.... all oso same...
same wat?

the boss will onli give some biased information to their workers or salesperson.
the boss will jus let us know a COST PRICE which is about mayb atleast 20-30% higher than HIS cost price from his distributor. if not how the boss earns... n still can pay us COMMISIONS and incentives... summore he still can earn a lot!!!

fyi.... the cost price that we know... is...

but 1 thing i can tell la... sometimes, if u wanna buy something, the salesperson really gave u a really good n low price ady. take it. cuz sometimes, we really do cut off our own commision to do sales n give customer very good price. serious...

although most customers would still wan a better discount

Do you know how to set this camera to auto stamp the date on the photos? According to user manual page 73, you can only stamp the date on the photos manually...

dun misund... many ppl thinks that big shops like those cant bargain...
but actually, we can... but mayb not as much as the small shops....
