which shop?

calvintc, i got a day earlier than you..... (on 20/8/08)

Got mine at Lowyat, forgot which shop but at ground floor, not Fotokem. the one with selling laptop and lcd monitor in one shop. got a nice lenglui there. Fotokem said fz28 not yet arrive, and another shop next to the one i bought even stressed out that pana dont have such model, and gave me a strange look.... haiyaahhh!!!!

my package pretty much the same as calvin's but traded in the mini tripod for 4' tripod, 4gb sdhc, carrying case (hard case), foc screen protector. total RM1500. i think in the next few months, the price will drop gradually. mine was rm1380, cash but withdrawed from CC (RHB dont extra charge if swipe for cash :yahoo: )

calvintc, for fz28, look for the AF/MF button on top near the shutter release button, than use the arrow up/down to focus where you want...

now i can go shoot airplanes.... and birds and squirrels behind my house...

Is it falls under the Digital Camera Fair road show ?

ya... You went also? you took any photo? Is FZ28 not FZ18... LOL....

"calvintc, for fz28, look for the AF/MF button on top near the shutter release button, than use the arrow up/down to focus where you want..." ............I've tried that.... we can get the focus that we want... but i still get the picture blur.... How come ah.... and i still don't know how to take a picture with the object focus and background blur..... any advice...... thanks.....and any setting that is nice to share with us.... taking photo indoor, low light, macro... etc..... i wanna learn......

hey people,

how's FZ28 in macro shots, fireworks, lowlight scenery and portraits? xD... looking at the price, it pretty much fit my budget. But i want something that has better picture quality and more functions to learn from comparing to my Ixus 850IS or Sony t300 =x...

Is FZ28 heavy too? =x...

FZ28 is very light.... Good for girls... Macro excellent... Fireworks haven't tried.... Lowlight scenery .... i feel have to depends on skills.... Portraits..... also have to depend on skills.... Today i went out with my friends did some potraits photo.... outcome some are good and some are not.... Welll i've been using it for 1 week + only.... skill not good at all.... sad......
But one thing is dat.... i use auto mode to take photo of long distance open air concert....the outcome surprise me...... i feel i need to learn to use this FZ28 more.... too many function.... good for beginner like me.... who doesn't wan to spend more on lenses..... mayb in 2 or 3 years time when i have the money and interest..............

hmmm i know most stuff depends on skills but the picture quality good? as in will the picture goes very grainy?

hmmm and comparing panasonic with other bigger brands... as i think this panasonic can get the d40 already?

yea....too many functions to explore....just bought FZ28 from the shop u recommended...i able to get at rm1420
now wan slowly explore the functions and master it...if not...good camera for me also no use.....
learning learning now....hehe...
so far...i also only use IA mode to snap photo...coz easiest way...

so far.... i get hold on a few semi pro cameras.
FZ28 is the lightest of em all....
comparing with olympus SP series or sony h-series.

but so far... i feel that olympus would be prefered by guy users, as it size n grip for our right hand is more secure. jus ngam ngam hou for average asian male hand size.

for FZ28, guys may prolly hav their last one or two fingers hanging below the camera without a grip.

overall... for semi-semi pro users. i think FZ28 is a very good choice.
while for more experienced semi-pro users. olympus SP series shud be a better choice.

1) What you want to do with your camera? Is it for professional or just armature P&S.? For PRO.... go for DSLR.... for Armature.... Go for P&S
2) Does $$$$ is your main factor????? if yes..... Go for P&S.... if $$$ not a problem.... Go for DSLR.....
3) You want to easy excess to where ever you go? Den get a small one.... (P&S)
4) If you believe in Quality..... Both have QUALITY..... but DSLR.... can upgrade to better Quality.....
5) Are you a beginner like me in Camera? If yes.... get FZ28 ...... if you consider yourself as pro.... get DSLR.... DSLR is the Better choice.....

By the way.... the cons about FZ28 is no hot shoe..... lense can't change....What you expect.... Bridge camera lei.... if got all those is DSLR d lor....LOL.... if you wanna compare noise...... I feel Venus Engine 4 give a very good performance..... but of course lose to CANON DSLR.....

this is just my point of views for my 1 week after i get my FZ28 and the doubts i have before i own FZ28..... I have no regrets in getting my FZ28 ..... just that Money fly..... LOL..... Money can earn back..... but the moments and skills is worth the price u pay for ur FZ28.....

you are right with the price of D40 and FZ28 is within the price range.... but FZ28 has 18X zoom.... try to get that zoom lense for ur D40.... i'm not sure about the price but i'm sure is more than RM 1000..... hehe.... and D40 body doesn't have IS.... you have to get the new lense for it.... with IS..... $$$$$$$.........think about it..... going for professional where ur career will bring u income? or you just as a hobby? hehe

dis is my personal opinion only...I do other ppl will share their opinion as we can share our knowledge in here..... i hope there is more FZ28 n Lumix-ian around the whole world.... "I'M NOT WORKING FOR PANASONIC AH" don't mistaken..... not promoting PANASONIC..... just promoting LEICA Lense.... hehehe
