Some gerbils will stay put and let you hold them longer... some will try nip u abit to ask u to let them down... some will use their back legs to kick you... they will do all sorts of stuff la... that is why i love to hold gerbils tongue.gif they won't bite and all.. my DEH become so hyper sometimes that she want me to take her out to play lol... i put my hand in and she will climb out from my hand like ladder ~.~

Gerbil bite is nothing.... try glider bite, sometimes the puncture wounds tear the flesh so bad that bleeding is hard to stop. Or rat bite, they bite till flesh bruise and deep puncture wounds. Cat bite worst, hard to stop bleeding and for the wounds to heal. LOL.... Gerbils rarely bite.... till today I have never been bitten by a gerbil, even fat tail gerbil haven't bite me yet and they are more often biters.

phew, scared me when u said bite, manatau is chew...
gerbils is chewer... anything u put inside they will tends to chew it...
but not all thing, mostly plastic material or paper or card material they will chew a lot...

talk about gerbils bite, as mention in some previous post, they jus nib...
if they really really feel threaten, then they will bite or jus run away...
most of the time jus nip...
u nee to handle the gerbils quite often then only u know how to take the gerbils...
those gerbils in pet shop or new, they dunno about u, so thought u a big monster for them, then they jus run lo...

yaya, important thing is whether the mom can support all of them or not...
these few days the pups need to be monitor lo, once feel the mom didnt take care or nursing the pups, then u have to take out and do nursing by yourself lo...
