or the most thing, when the gerbils not bond with u, then they might bite...
but all and all, gerbils seldom bite. can said up to 100% didnt bite, jus like mine one... even when my fren hold also didnt bite....

rice jus for treat only, not the staple food...

Need ID here. What is my gerbil here??? Is it mongolian gerbil? Fat tailed? Father color is like the far left and mother is all black. Got these 5 babies, 3 like father and 1 like mom.... and 1 really tan color.... Just separated them yesterday from their parent cause got new pinkies.....

They are mongolions.

from the picture, if i not mistake, left is sp agouti, then center is black, then the right one is nutmeg...
u check the left one see whether the under fur is wat colour, if grey than is agouti. due to he/she have white spot, then is sp agouti.
then center obviously is black lo...
then the right one u check under fur is it orange? if yes then might be nutmeg...

about the colour of the gerbs jus now, correct me if wrong.

for the gerbils that u mean 3 like father, 1 like mom, and 1 more to tan...
i guess, 3 is agouti, 1 is black then the last one might be lilac, i not really sure about it...
need to wait foo for the answer, she more expert in gene, haha...

i dunno why my gerbil give birth 3 times, all fail. always the baby come out, then a day or two die. didnt disturb them at all. haiz... sad la...

The spotted one should be a Sp Lilac. ^^ ... The middle one everyone knows what color it is. About the right one, it looks like a DEH to me. Need to check its undercoat.

I like the first and the middle one. Wonder where can get in Kuching?

The 5 babies grow like weeds....

1 is sp lilac, 1 is black, 1 is argente (its not a DEH, DEH has high white side line. and up to their ear side its because of the ee gene).
by the way, u only can seperate the pups from mth when they are 2 mths old, i guess they are only 1 mth old now? also your pups are very skinny. they don't looke healthy. better u feed them well, supplement them more. especially the spotted lilac. pup like that can gone anytime.

also supplement the mum. continue pregnant n nursing will cos her lost alot of calcium n nutrition.

either the mum is not healthy or mum no milk. you should check if the pups are well feed. if not u hv to get animal milk n hand feed them.

Thanks for the advice, boss.... I feed them with hamster food (seeds, etc), vegetable (sawi, kacang panjang, tomato, carrot).... they eat them all... but still skinny.... How to do? what kind of supplement should I get? Are they easily available? I frequently visit pet wonderland in mid valley....

pets wanderland hv nothing for gerbils lol.. if you do go petshack sunway, u will get all goodie there.

basically fresh don't do much for gerbils

get prestige hamster food, u will see the difference. get a back of briter bunny, mix 1/4 britter bunny with 1 pack of prestige

supplement you can get multi vit in liquid form or get this organic vege power which u can find more details in my sign link. all u can get them from petshack. 1 stop shop.

er wanna ask the orange pup is black eye or ruby eye? what color belly?
