one of d most common rule to take note is "rule of third"...

composition of photo is very important...

So i went out to take some pictures today trying to apply the rule of third onto my pictures. Here's one of it... http://www.flickr.com/photos/reneechung/2328585546/ Did i get the rule of third right?

the point of focus of your picture is the signboard
i personally think the sign board should be lower and a little bit of left.

just my 2cents...

Better in what sense? Cheaper - yes. They are essentially the same camera except for more MP for the d40x, slightly faster continuous shooting (2.5 fps vs 3 fps) and lower minimum ISO (ISO 100 vs ISO 200).

if you want d40x, better get yourself a d60 as it has sensor cleaner,kit-lens is a VR, and some new feature over d40x

D40x vs D60,

D60 is a better choice due to the VR lens an sensor cleaner. Price difference is not that huge.

yes, just that no autofocus, you'll need to manual focus.
