QUOTE(skuzzlebutt @ Mar 11 2008, 10:56 PM) can our d40 use with the prime 50mm f1.8? Btw, any d40 user from penang? can, just that u have to manual focus for it. It is ok when u taking portraits, where the subjects will stand still and wait for you. not ok if u taking candid, unless u can manual focus very fast, that's not easy, but not impossible.

QUOTE(BlueSilver @ Mar 11 2008, 08:00 PM) i took some pictures today and some of them came out rather 'boring'. I'm not sure how else to improve it. It looks a bit dark i think. Saw some of your pictures and its not as bad as you think it is. You just need to find the right angles to make the shots more interesting rather than a front on shot. Sometimes it is not getting the most things into a picture but finding the point of focus. You also need to look out for distracting elements such as the photo on The Store where the balloons (are those balloons) are noticeable on the top left corner but they are not suppose to be there. And I noticed from two pictures that you have a dot on the right-side of your picture. Could be dust so time to do some cleaning

QUOTE(nuance @ Mar 11 2008, 10:45 PM) I'm in love with our Nikon D40 after lots of trial & error! It's great..only you can't zoom very much. Spoilt by the Panasonic Lumix. But it's awesome. Cannot zoom much? Try the 18-200/250 lenses

Errrrr that depends on where the dust is located. I usually use a blower or a lenspen. If its on the mirror then I send it to Nikon

Taking pics on private property (shopping complexes) is not 100% allowed. It depends on the owner. I'd only do it if it was to take pics of deco, billboards and stuff. Not of stuff inside the shop...
And forget about taking pics inside of KLCC. After the Sept 11 incident, everyone is paranoid.

What about taking the complexes interior? (not the shops) Some complexes put up very nice decor during festivities, are we allowed to take pictures? (I used to see a lot of people taking pictures, but not sure if it's legal/allowable).

I went to Taipei 101 shopping mall. every main door of the entrance have "NO PHOTOGRAPH". When I'm in shopping level top floor, everyone is taking photo about everything. I just join the majority and frap...frap...frap alot.
