Maybe it's the older 70-300mm (non-VR). That costs about RM500++. If it's the VR version, you should really treat your friend makan besar already.Actually, the RM300 is enough for you to buy the 18-55mm only. No matter what lens that 300mm is, your friend is giving you a pretty good deal QUOTE heauaeh...same like me..certain pple think us like weird... i got one man when i shot at night and i heard he told us "wah..professional" coz of using slr's and tripod oni.. Getting stared at is normal. DSLRs aren't that common yet (reminds me of when PDAs and smartphones aren't that common, using one will definitely draw attention). A more funny scenario is when someone accidentally walks into my path when I'm composing and they 'lari' and/or duck away when they notice me. I always tell my gf beside me - "wah lau they don't need to run like that, my lens don't spit fire" This post has been edited by ebernie: Mar 11 2008, 05:25 PM |

QUOTE(mafiaboy34 @ Mar 11 2008, 07:37 PM) ooh ya ka?? ape beza PRIME & ZOOM? ape beza fixed length and variable length? what difference does they make? ( rasa diriku mcm bongok giler lak kat sini.. hehe) prime lens means that it has a fixed focal length, zoom means can adjust focal length, same like a digital camera 3x optical zoom or digital...normally fixed focal length lens has a bigger aperture and the price is greater, variable focal length lens usually come with a variable aperture, for fixed aperture, the price is a lot higher... |

( rasa diriku mcm bongok giler lak kat sini.. hehe) Prime lens: tak boleh zoomZoom lens: boleh zoom Zoom: gambar dalam viewfinder boleh besar tanpa anda perlu berjalan ke depan How to differentiate? See the lens description: 70-300 means it is 70mm widest, and 300mm longest. Prime lens will only have a single notation e.g. 50mm, 85mm, 300mm, etc. Other than not being able to zoom, prime lens are usually sharper. i took some pictures today and some of them came out rather 'boring'. I'm not sure how else to improve it. It looks a bit dark i think.

I'm in love with our Nikon D40 after lots of trial & error! It's great..only you can't zoom very much. Spoilt by the Panasonic Lumix.
But it's awesome. |
