Hi. My AirAsia flights from KL > BKK and BKK > KL have been canceled. My KL > BKK Flight is moved by an hour which is fine.

but my return flight from BKK to KL has been moved to the next day (overnight)

anyone here has experience with what I should do? Any avenue to claim for compensation on the additional night's stay I have to spend on?

Already checked with my credit card company, the travel insurance tied to the cc does not cover cancellations, only delay.

Thank you

P/S also tried finding a way to contact AirAsia with no success.

Is this delay or cancel?

Ur flight does not look like it was cancel , just delay

Why your insurance not cover?

when are you travel dates ?

airasia have a few flights between kl bangkok KL (operated by FD and AK)

usually when flights cancel - airlines will give you a later flight - so that you will not missed it (if they give you earlier flight) .. (tickets burned if missed flight)

contact d airline - ask them for earlier in the day flight if have - they should give you that without penalty / fare differences

as for claims etc - usually airlines and insurance will not cover if the changes are made X-days ahead - need to check wording on that

follow this ... make sure you are signed in to your airasia account

once Bo is launched, give you option to choose, click on "Others"
then - Hotel/SNAP
then - Booking cancellation ... once you click this, it will tell you all the faiwa (canto) this cannot that cannot ... then it will say "if you flight is cancelled, lets see how our allstar cna help you"
lastly - "Talk to allstar" ... that is the live person chat

recommended that you do this during work time ... because night time less staff longer wait time
must stay infront of pc - if they come online you no respond after 2 -3 minutes, they will disconnect

not from what my relative experience when their flight is cancelled back to kota kinabalu few month ago due to that volcano eruption and the smoke is cancelling all flights
they're stuck at guangzhou and everybody onboard gets a free night stay

Lol AA scum as usual.

And no, it is stated operational reason. No travel insurance covers that. Doesn't even matter if you wanna look at it being a delay or cancellation.

AA says for Operational Reason. Last time I have similar case and insurance say that is not covered, unless it is weather or mechanical etc
