very true, no?

quite a number of times if i hear back my friends story of each other when they travelled together. alot of eyerolling moments and hair splitting moments.

like they even missed a flight before cause lost tickets or someone woke up late lmao
*
lol... miss flight due to woke up late is really troublesome, like everyone already agreed on the time but still

other problems like how to split bill, which attraction point to go, do we chill or rush mode

last time i go shanghai with my cousin, i also split and let them go Disneyland, and me and my gf go to HangZhou and have fun. glad able to do this

not to mention its also family test, when you bring elderly go:
- Walauweh why so expensive? dont go la
- One cup of coffee also RM25? haiyaa... (and proceed to nag whole night)
- Walau so hot and walk so far...
- Got things to see meh here?
- Overly conversing with locals o
- yada yada, general a all rounder party buster

i dont say every elderly is like that, but a strong heart and mind is good to deal with situation like this

another type is keep returning to a comfort spot like Bangkok for Thailand, and buying spree like BigC... not sure whats so good to shop once you done it 1st time around

there's many other nice places to go in Thailand like Chiang Mai...

But still, everyone has their own preference. As long bring happiness and not hurting anyone else, who am i to judge?

flights of all things to be missed, this one i terasa also. samore how expensive flights are these days, no joke dont play2

yeah all the small things adds up. thats why its stated the best group travel consist no more than 3-4 people. any more its too hard and complicated to sync unless its fixed agenda like tours

heh all the elderly part sounds like from real life experience. i also got the same last time in a tour to Europe, topkek man the elderlies

>go europe complain too much western food bo ngam them
>ended up remainder days of the trip all asian food like thai, chinese, vietnamese doh.gif

my parents are quite understanding but at same time while i want to bring them to travel together, i know our travelling styles will conflict.

When traveling with elderly, just treat as travelling with their terms.
Elderly usually don't like very flashy or too new experience unless they frequently in that kind of environment

Hong Kong or china cukup they main dah biggrin.gif

mostly 10k - 20k , i am the type who like to relax and follow my own time when travelling. Holiday for me should be relaxing and doesnt need to follow any strict itinerary. If there are lots of must visit i will stretch a few more days for the trip.

QUOTE(weehoi @ Jul 18 2024, 06:14 PM)
But some travel mates can be toxic as hell.

Need to wake up very early like 5am, then drove somewhere jalan2 walk till evening.

Go back hotel for shower during evening and rest for 30mins then must go out again at night continue to cover as many tourist destinations as possible until midnight.

Repeat that for 5 days.
*
kalo ikut tour then memang la kena ikut - takkan satu bas nak tunggu kau seorang..

BUT if you going with fam/frens, then amboi!! senang lenang je ko label your travel companion toxic ya. You know..if it were to be viewed from their perspective, to them, you are the toxic one (ha! kan dah terasa, sedap kan?) In your mind you tolerate them macam you yg hero, but you have no idea how much they putting up with your pattern pun laugh.gif

So if you nak tido then ko tido je la, let them wake up 5am go do what they want, you can meet/rendezvous with them later (plan ahead la, like the night before), no harm no foul, you might miss out on a few excursions/meals with them, but you get what you want and they get what they want.

End of the day, you jangan pulak komplen kecam why tak tunggu you, why tak ajak you, why you left out sini sana.. you yang nak rilek, so you rilek la laugh.gif

For you, it might be a trip you can revisit again another time, but it may not be so for them. So let go of that "toxic" victim mentality, and enjoy your travels.

yeah so conflicts in interest is inevitable

ironic part about the new experience too is thats the main thing for travelling for me lol, if youre not going there to experience new things then why travel?

i once had a small row with a friend whom while travelling together, he wanted to eat McD while i wanted to hunt for local food stalls. i kenot into his justification on why the heck would he of all things eat a franchise food and ordering the same thing we in Malaysia had too when we are already in a different place with opportunity to try out.. what a waste of stomach space

thats the thing lel

he's eating the average big mac, egg mcmuffin etc. not even trying the specialties of the region/season sweat.gif

its like imagine you go to MY McD and you came from lets say US McD, and dont order the Prosperity Burger to try when its available

yeah for a snack no prob, but hes eating it as full meals instead of trying other local dishes.

the problem starts when the other party gaslight you with "Its not often that we get to travel, yet you are not being cooperative", "why you so antisocial one?"
