QUOTE(gogocan @ Jul 18 2024, 08:21 PM) 10k steps like 8-9km..i'm run marathon but the most i walk on holiday mode will be like 10k-20k steps only..that also on alternate days. More than 50k one time. That time I travelled three places at one time: enoshima, kamakura and yokohama. At yokohama, I directly walk from train station to chinatown 50k steps why go holidays? Better go gym haha If in KL, achievable if u walk from ss2 to putra heights via Puchong. Of from ss2 to connaught via um/mid valley/jalan cheras This post has been edited by EX Unseen Forces: Jul 18 2024, 08:51 PM |

At yokohama, I directly walk from train station to chinatown 50k if during spring / autumn cool / dry weather then much easier than my ATH 43K in KL with hot and humid climate. If in KL, achievable if u walk from ss2 to putra heights via Puchong. Of from ss2 to connaught via um/mid valley/jalan cheras Sometimes I regret that 43K due to my weirdo friend who wanted to walk all damn day long but sometimes I find the ATH kinda cool... In KL just use LRT lah. This post has been edited by weehoi: Jul 18 2024, 09:42 PM EX Unseen Forces liked this post

lol... why not you calculate based on your pace, how many steps can you cover in 1 hour.
and then decide if the vacation you wanted basically involves you walking for 10 to 12 hours non stop. |

QUOTE(Koranshita @ Jul 18 2024, 09:43 PM) The max I walk.is 30k++ during trip but not every day. Professional / sports enthusiasts can do 100K / day if you Google 100000 steps.Crazy if walk so much..how does your body handle. But of course I don't advocate any ordinary person to attempt that. Most ordinary persons 20 - 30k here based on observation. To me 10k is too little, weak and lazy. 20k not bad. Passing mark. 30k hardworking but tough. QUOTE(weehoi @ Jul 18 2024, 06:14 PM) But some travel mates can be toxic as hell. That sounds like me. But i will not force others to accompany me if others don’t want. Maybe break into 2 groups in the trip. One that go out early and come back late. Another group go out late, meet up with the group and then leave early. Need to wake up very early like 5am, then drove somewhere jalan2 walk till evening. Go back hotel for shower during evening and rest for 30mins then must go out again at night continue to cover as many tourist destinations as possible until midnight. Repeat that for 5 days. Anyway, if others can walk so much, with training, you also can. Unless your friends are athletes. This post has been edited by abm: Jul 18 2024, 09:48 PM |

In some ways such friends are advantageous if that person who follows him don't mind the fatigue and long pace.Anyway, if others can walk so much, with training, you also can. Unless your friends are athletes. Like with 3 short days holiday can visit and cover almost all places like Ipoh, Penang, Cameron Highlands. The leader can motivate the laggards. The person I mentioned is not an athlete but exercises quite regularly. This post has been edited by weehoi: Jul 18 2024, 09:53 PM |

QUOTE(weehoi @ Jul 18 2024, 06:07 PM) Can a normal / healthy person walk 50,000 steps each day for 5 days straight while traveling? impossible la.. walk 30-35km per day? Or is it better to adopt alternate days? Which means one day 50K steps then next day mostly rest at hotel / hangout at areas nearby hotel. For me personally I can do like 30K steps per day but next day will feel fatigue due to long walks from previous day. If wanna do consecutive days long walks then it's consider pushing myself mentally / spiritually and that could be unhealthy as well. I think people or soldiers in the past easily walked 50,000 steps per day just to go somewhere if they don’t have a horse. 20km is only 30+k steps. if just walking u wont have enough time to achieve that. |
