Called Maxis and the reply I got from them is
A message will be sent to your phone "Tomorrow" if your phone is available to be picked up. I asked regarding the preorder and batch and the call center was not able to answer me. Just insist to please wait for the SMS for collection.

Just received WhatsApp from Switch to collect tomorrow. Their staff should be busy blasting out messages today.
