I go clinic for the panel that I'm covered for in my company. Usually goes for medicine such as flu and sore throat, and sometime for MC when really sick. I used to go for this Indian doctor clinic nearby but when my company changed policy and expanded the panel clinic selection, I started going to the Chinese doctor clinic, because I noticed the 1st clinic sore throat medicines tasted funny. Another thing I also realized after switching was the 1st Indian doctor there just do preliminary work as he doesn't seem to recognize me even when I've been there multiple times, whereas the chinese doctor could remember me and recall my last symptoms just on my 2nd trip there. I find the sore medicine from the chinese clinic tasted okay and not weird like the previous clinic, and so I stuck to this Chinese clinic from then on.

Both clinics have pretty good traffic of patients. I needed to wait for at least 15-30 mins to see the doctor. The Indian clinic is much nearer which is why i chose that clinic first. They also give MC when requested. Just that the medicine quality felt like they expiring, so I decided to go further for another clinic in town to see if they got better quality medicine, which they had, and so I stuck to that clinic ever since.

I think bad clinic can survive on panel patients who just went there for MC only.

I will go with good docs and give good meds. Alot clinic give generic meds, but since I am claiming company's insurance, I want the best out there.

Doctor once from got MD license. Either they open own clinic or stay at Hospital for futher study until Surgeon / Specialist which will took them another 2 - 4 years in hospital life.

Intern to MD took them 4 years, everday work 16 hrs inside hospital.....90% people once got MD sure ciao....open own clinic & start earn money.

i just go to nearest clinic available. What do you expect clinics to do? The most give the same medication antibiotic, cough syrup, panadols.
If I want read treatment which is already a serious case, that would be private hospital.

as company still paying, i am going to the expensive clinic Mediviron. once i was not working for a period of time, i just went to KKM and I paid RM1, surprisingly it was good and the queue wasn't that long.

As long as I am still working, will go to those expensive panel, else KKM will be my choice

At the end of the day, how successful a clinic is depends on how good the doctor is in terms of knowledge and soft skills

Some doctors are good but no soft skills. Some doctors have soft skills but lack knowledge.

Since its a service line, its how uou build up your network of customers who trust you.

For me i go to mediviron, i find it one of the worst kliniks there is. Doctors are all locum . So normally i will go to clinics which are being run by the owners themselves.

To doctors out there that open your own clinic, how do you stay competitive and relevant with other clinics out there?

Example in Setia Alam, Shah Alam. We have tons of clinics in old part Setia Alam and in new area, which is Setia Taipan

I'm as a customer sometimes don't know which one to choose. My company medical can use in tons of clinics out there.

As a young guy, I end up choose popular chain clinics such as Klinik Mediviron, Poliklink Lourdes instead of choosing to go to Klinik Dr Razila, Klinik Dr  Tan etc etc

I feel that I trust more brand that have branch in different places instead of going to the clinic that I mentioned above.

ItHow about u all? How do u choose your clinic? Or you will simply go any clinic to get the medicine and consultation?  biggrin.gif

i am friends with a couple who opened a private klinik. at first they were doing ok when they were the only klinik in the area. but then a bigger chain clinic opened and it was panel for many companies. my friends klinik lost out and can see them struggling to maintain their klinik now. i think their life is being supported by the wife working at klinik kesihatan during the day and working at their klinik at night.

Yeah, I don't know how some doctors stay in business

One time I was fucking stressed at work, blood pressure went thru the roof and kena bad migraine.

Went to see a gp. Check blood pressure and etc, doctor said nothing wrong, but gave me referral letter to see orthopedic.

Didn't charge me a single cent
