my place got one clinic charge only rm 20 or 30 per consultation...

so many old folks like to go there
*
Consultation are controlled price by KKM iinm.
They earn more on charging super high on the medicine.

For eg Paracetemol RM7 at pharmacy but at clinic probably RM15-RM20

My placed used to have a clinic that charges very very very cheap. 10 years ago costs RM30 inclusive medicine for common cold treatment, whilst other clinics charges nothing less than RM60.
Sadly the Dr retired already, but not really problem since i can claim company insurance.

I'm from the pharma industry.

From my experience. Is best to check the Google reviews first and see which clinic got the most star

Usually there will be a Dr there that is very good with patients. So try to see that particular Dr.

Doesn't matter if it's chain or not. Chain doesn't mean good. It's the Dr that makes it great

So anyway, most clinics survive through panel patients. Those on chronic medications, will come and take their usual supply which is sponsor by their own company

too many fake/paid reviews out there.

Yea that's why, find those with like 100 reviews or more

If just 10-20 reviews, then really have to think it through

Or if you have close friends in pharma line. Can ask them which dr is good.

Starting out as a freshie (private clinic) you will have months of very low patient numbers to the point you'll be bored as fuck but as your patient list grows so do your referrals from these patients. That's why those very old dirty clinics seem to be getting alot of pts vs those Cafe looking ones.

Also I notice alot of clinics that look more like cafés being opened in kuching. Like 80% of their capital went into interior design. I miss those old school clinics with tiles everywhere. You get a bleeding patient it's easy to clean. Try getting blood off your wood panels.

Those old school clinics earned tonnes of money back then.

Every patient notes are hand written, only accept cash then receipt also hand written.

Heard that many also run tax one

i think those that >100 reviews confirm paid for the reviews 😅 what i notice is that, real people rarely give good reviews. most of the time when they write review is because they have bad experience.

So called "good doctors" usually give the strongest meds for everything. Eg if got cough, will give strong antibiotik and steroid with the strongest cough meds. Then patient will get relief the fastest, hence thinking that this doctor got good diagnostic skill, very clever...

Easiest is ask doctor which doctor they go to when sick. lol

My advice is choose the doctor that u are most comfortable talking to. THen u keep track whether the doctor solve your problem or not.

Patient and doctor also got a lot of type.
- Some like to give/take medications
- some prefer to avoid medications if possible.
- Some just want to get assurance so they can sleep better.
- Some just want to get injection or whatever so they can continue to work the rest of the day/week
- some don't even know what is wrong just want to find out they are okay. '

Which type are u?

There are also genuine ones. Just got to know how to differentiate. Otherwise ask friends or family, word of mouth.

I promise you this, after I’m retired and out of active clinical practice completely, I’ll let you know.

Right now, there are not many doctors in my specialty so with /k’s immense talent at doxxing, I’d like to keep as anonymous as I can for now.
*
Wasn't there a claim you were doxxed here before and MIA for a bit? I noticed your absence during Covid period, maybe you MIA even before that.

Agreed.

I know a Dr that dont even dare to check for sorethroat and just hantam with antibiotik hoping can fix u.
Some will give plenty of advises what to do and what not to do.
And some will ignore or brush off ur question lazy layan u.

My choice varies depend what i need whether just MC for rest and discard all medicines, or i wanted to eat medicine.

Here is a story for dentist:

Toothache of molar:

Dentist 1(young, new fancy cafe theme clinic): your tooth is beyond saving, need root canal+ceramic crowning total RM4k

Dentist 2(old guy, works part time as lecturer in uni, clinic interior design old school): let's do some tooth filling.

went with 2nd option and tooth is still good till now. costed rm150.

not saying the first dentist was wrong, but shouldn't the protocol be to try the simple solution first?

ItHow about u all? How do u choose your clinic? Or you will simply go any clinic to get the medicine and consultation?  biggrin.gif

I choose based on Doctor.

Choose Doctor that really paying attention to your symptoms and properly check you. Always ask for explanations, have a chat to understand what you're having. The more they can explain in a way that is personlized to you, generally the better that Doctor is.

Many doctors will give you generic textbook answers, and my advice is to avoid those kind of Doctors.

How packed is this GP? Even if you say on average is RM200/patient and operate for 12 hours, you'll need to see about 83 patients a day. Roughly 7 people an hour. Means 8-9 minutes per person non-stop without breaks.

and I think most GP visits are in the RM80-120 range.

or dentist 3. Explain to u what is happening to your tooth. To try filling first if pain increase then confirm need to do root canal and crown. Pros and cons will be discussed. you make the decision.

Actually dentist 2 taking a lot of risk, if u didnt consult dentist 1. and u ended up with insane pain (toothache is the second most painful for human, first is childbirth). You going to tell 100 other ppl to avoid dentist 2. That dentist 2 is very lucky in your case.
