greetings from tokyo!

i`ve been here since tuesday, and it`s been awesome so far (considering i can only walk around after 5, after i finish my training / course).

the 1st thing i noticed is how small their houses are! it seems like they value spaces greatly. even the `porch` just barely fits the car. and i dont know whether the alley i`m at is the front or back alley, hehe.

and the tokyoites are really3 helpful. like bonzaimy said, they`ll help us ke lubang cacing. there`s one time in akihabara, we asked somebody the direction. at 1st he didn`t know the way, so we just signaled him its ok, we can try find it ourselves. then 5 mins later, that guy ran to us, and asked us to follow him, then he brought us to the place! we were really touched, lol.

and just now we didn`t know the ticket we`re supposed to buy to go home, and then the security guard came and helped us. its so funny, coz we tried to explain the situation we`re in (we didnt know that we could change metro lines without the station), and he also tried to explain the options we have. mcm ayam ckp dgn itik. but he helped us anyway. sugoii!

just now we went to shinjuku, n we thought shinjuku-shibuya are just within walking distance. after 30 mins of walking, we realized that shibuya is another 40 mins away. so we decided to board JR line, and we only took several pics at shibuya crossing, before heading home. i felt sorry for my other friends, coz i was the one who encouraged them to go to shinjuku n shibuya. my feet are still sore fr the walking!

okay, gtg sleep. right now im watching a channel where they teach english n spanish. so funny to see whites acting animatedly like the japanese. jyane...

i once walked in one of the parks close to palace in tokyo at night and used my lighter to read the inscription at the bottom of a statue. Out of nowhere...a guard on bike came...gestured at me to stay put shocking.gif ..rode off for a few minutes and came back with brochure in english thumbup.gif

haven't found this type of pleasant attitude towards tourists anywhere else

One of the JP Visa requirement is to have the bank statement. Does anybody have any idea on this part?

Is it that I need to update the passbook, and then get officer to sign the photocopy... or I need to write a letter stating that this is my passbook and get bank officer to sign the letter?

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=739760

you can either photocopy your passbook n get the bank officer to sign
or
print online, bring to bank to sign
or
ask them to print n sign. have to pay RM10 (CIMB)

uuu target? hehe.

dunno, maybe we walked a bit slow (i tried to walk faster, but others were always behind me, so how? lol), n we were all exhausted and hungry that time.

i came back 2 days ago, and all in all it was awesome! i managed to see ume hanami at yushima tenjin. very beautiful... can't imagine how it would look like if there are sakuras.

it was also snowing in tokyo, last friday n last tuesday. but too bad it wasn't enough to pile up, otherwise i can make a snow angel heheh. wish i could go there again.

The website Shinkansen states
QUOTE
Eligibility

Only foreigners, who stay in Japan on a temporary visitor visa (and Japanese nationals with permanent residence outside of Japan), are eligible to use a Japan Rail Pass.

The Japan Rail Pass has to be purchased outside of Japan. When purchasing the pass, you will receive an exchange order which has to be exchanged into an actual rail pass after your arrival in Japan and within three months of the purchase.

The exchange can be done at various major railway stations, including Narita Airport and Kansai Airport. It is not until the time of exchange, when you determine the starting date of validity of your Japan Rail Pass.
