went to japan 3 times for the last 4 years. planning to go again, especially with current exchange which is quite low... still have my 2000 yen and 500yen ntt phone card nod.gif

you can try check out fast food tempura shop (sells only seafood tempura) TENYA. there are branches in Asakusa (near the big gate), Shinjuku, Akihabara, Ikebukuro...good price, very filling.

backpack, RM6k is more than enough if it is not inclusive of airticket. heck, 6k is actually enuff for 7Night (flight+hotel+food,train - no shopping)

bonzaimy,
first u need to plan where are you going. if it just going to be around tokyo, it is cheaper to buy ticket as you are going or buy SUICA card (something like Touch N Go). buying a 7 day rail pass or JR pass is worth it if you are going around like crazy.... that is what Psychzz trying to explain.

@stimix - cheap bento set at departmental store. Buy before u go back hotel then can reheat mwave. Cheaper than konbini n more cheaper nearing closing. Matt85 is bento warrior haha
