Ip Man

8/10

Really an awesome kung fu's movie, great storyline and great fighting scene, especially the ending part where Ip Man is shot by gun,and all the Chinese was angry and start to fight back, that part really touching...

Legendary Assassin

7/10

Info--English and Chinese

New movie starring by Wu Jing,a famous action actor, this movie not showing at our country I think, but this movie is nice as the storyline is quite good and the fighting scene is awesome too.

Seven Pounds - 5 out of 10

I went into the movie with high expectations, only for them to come crashing down. The movie was too boring and too slow. And so depressing. Prolly the most depressing movie I've ever watched. Nothing like Pursuit of Happyness at all. Didn't like this movie one bit. Too bad. Because I like Will Smith a lot.

Sex Drive - 8 out of 10

I laughed through the whole film and really enjoyed it. It's much funnier than the trailer made it out to be.

Zombie Stripper - 2.5 out of 10

Damn ridiculous movie. Low budget film. The storyline is ridiculous and make no sense. Jeanna Jamerson was in it. Of coz, there were a lot of nudity scenes in it. Quite stimulating. Otherwise, gone the 2.5 star i gave.

Dragon Hunter - 7.5/10

A french made CG animation movie. Beautifully rendered, and sweet musical scores

Loved the strange world they represent, where almost everything floats in the air.

A very nice change from those typical Hollywood animation.

Pink Panther 2 - 5 out of 10

Funny but a bit overdone. The first one was much better. Steve Martin is still great though.

Role Models - Quite a fun movie. I dunno what kind of message it wants to send out though. And the climatic "battle" had me with contradicting feelings. Part of me felt that they did a good job of making a fake battle feel exciting, the other part of me kept saying "this is the lamest thing I've seen ever!" 3.5/5

Milk - A really good biopic, but not exceptional. It keeps things interesting always without quite reaching any real highs. Sean Penn and Josh Brolin do some great job here. 4/5

In Bruges - For the second time. Awesome awesome awesome! Gleeson and especially Colin Farrel (and later on Ralph Fiennes) are so much fun to watch, and the humour and lines are as quirky as they come. Plus this film has a dwarf who snorts coke! That counts for something for sure. My second favourite movie of 2008. 5/5

Synecdoche, New York - I'm not going to pretend and say that I understood this. I didn't. The opening 20 or 30 mins were slow and didnt really motivate me to watch on (though at some point later I realize I was absorbed), and often it was confusing. But I do know this film made me feel sad, really sad. A very tragic film. Gotta watch it again for sure.

I also watched Seven Pounds halfway. Was pretty bored by it. I'll probably finish it tomorrow.

W. - 5 out of 10

I thought it was an okay movie with and okay performance from Josh Brolin. He didn't really look like Bush. His voice was good and gestures and all were decent. The film skipped a lot though. I didn't know what it wanted to be. Was it supposed to be a biopic? If it was, it was too short and too concise. If it was about his term in office or Iraq, there wasn't enough of that either. It just felt very weird for me. On top of all that, the film had a very tacky feel to it for me.

I suggest people watch it, but don't expect much.

Seven Pounds - What a bore. People have been incredible secretive about its story, like "I cant tell you anything or I might ruin the whole thing!". But it was quite obvious from the opening 10 or 15 mins what was going to happen in the end. I'm beginning not to like Will Smith. Here he has this expression on for the entire span of the movie, an ugly, sad face which he makes and the wind blew and it got stuck with him permanently. If I want to watch a movie about guilt, I will watch The Machinist instead. At least it's not all sappy and boring.

Btw kobe, re my dad's taste in movies. He saw Milk yesterday and said it was "missable" and the academy was "stupid to give Sean Penn the best actor". laugh.gif

Bolt - Story is quite a ripoff of Toy Story 1 and 2. If you want to see the gulf between Pixar and all the other animation studios, this is yet another one you can watch. It aint bad, but we've seen it ALL before, and much, much better. Really, just watch the Toy Storys after watching this, and see for yourself. 2.5/5

I agree with everything you say, really. Milk was a good biopic but all too familiar. I don't rate In Bruges as high as you but it was a great comedy indeed. The Tottenham joke really cracked me up! Synecdoche NY isn't a movie that one can understand with just 1 viewing, I watched it myself and couldn't understand it completely, but it makes me wanna watch it again and that's not a bad thing at all. I suspect that I'll watch it several times. Seven Pounds was a real borefest, I didn't believe what Burga told me, (the ratings were kinda high in imdb) but i soon realized what he meant. I couldn't even finish 1 hour of 7 pounds.

Capote was another bore I watched. I thought this was supposed to be really good.

Just watch an old movie called Pulp Fiction (1994)

i love this movie, very funny, nice action and entertaining

I can't tell what the main storyline of this movie is, because it does not focus on one main storyline (but it revolves around the "Mafia" theme),
The movie plot is kinda random at first but links together well till the end ,I love the way Quentin Tarantino (the Director of Kill Bill) tells/directs a movie (the story moves at very nice pace IMO).
The casting was great (big names like Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, etc flex.gif )
I think the movie is base on the 80's theme
