The Curious Case of Benjamin Button It was just okay. Not great. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. But a well done movie. Good acting by Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett and some good scenes and sequences. 7 out of 10
Ping Pong Playa Silly Chinese American movie. About ping pong. Just very silly.Heh. 4 out of 10
Slumdog Millionaire Absolutely incredible. Captivating story. Stunning photography. And incredible acting. Especially by the kids. Also superb music in the backgrounds. Blended in with the mood of the story. Awesome movie. 8.5 out of 10

Watch during CNY
Red Cliff 2 (Mandarin) - About Zhuge Liang "summoned" east wind to defeat Cao Cao. Very nice war movie (9/10)
All Well End Well (Cantonese) - crazy & funny movie as usual. Compare to previous version, i miss Leslie Cheung's versions... (5/10)
Underworld3 - Rise of Lycans Interesting but without Kate Beckinsale, felt like missing something. Fighting scene too messy. (6/10)

Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans - 8/10Nice dark movie. Cleared up all the questions raised from the first two movies. Loved the fight scenes and the characters. Prefer Rhona Mitra compared to Kate Beckinsale. The Wedding Game - 7/10First half was hilarious and entertaining. Second half was predictable. Storyline is something different compared to the rest of the Chinese-Singapore comedies out there. All's Well End's Well - 5/10Just for laughs. Hilarious and lame like hell but story is crap.

Was interesting but not captivating enough for me. Good acting from Frank Langella.
I give it a 6.5 out of 10.

Body of Lies
Quite a bore. The film is uniform throughout, with a few cool scenes spaced out far in between, and they are too short in length to make any real kind of impact to this otherwise monotonous film. It's a very talky film, more so than I expected, and half the time I didn't know what the on-screen characters were doing or trying to do, and in the end it doesn't amount to anything much either. It didn't jolt me, it didn't surprise me, it didn't entertain me much. It's simply flat.
DiCaprio is good, but he basically plays the same role as he did in The Departed. he needs to reinvent himself, and I'll be looking out for him in Revolutionary Road which people say is his best performance yet. Crowe's role doesn't require much out of him, and he doesn't go beyond what is required. Mark Strong gives a strong performance. Other than that, it's very average stuff. Photography isn't very good, and this is coming from the guy who made visually arresting films like Blade Runner and Alien.
A letdown. 2/5
Changeling
Now here's a good, solid film, but one which could have been so much better. I agree with the review in Saturday's The Star. The story about police corruption and the chicken coup murders is such an engrossing one, that I really did feel Eastwood wasted it by telling the story with the focal point being the mother. What's worse is that I did not like Jolie's performance. It feels artificial and manufactured. Looking at it, I can't say it's a bad performance, but one can see through the fakeness of it. At least that's how I felt. John Malkovich plays the good guy here, though I didn't know that when he first appears. His voice plus the way he speaks make it seem like he has ulterior motives, and that was what I suspected for half of the film, but no, he's the good guy till the end.
Still a solid film. 3.5/5

During my CNY holidays period went watched these movies: the wrestler: A depressing movie about a washed out superstar but the reason why you can feel depressed cause the movie has successfully made you feel so. All thanks to the brilliant acting of Mickey Rourke and i will want him to win the Oscars for this Slumdog millionaire: Perhaps that the only indian movie which i manage to finish but enjoyed it as well. One of the best movies i watched from last year. There never been a dull moment and the cinematography and acting is phenomenal. Brilliant job Danny Boyle! I want this movie to win the oscars for best picture! Connected: Heard alot on it and watched it on dvd. Honestly apart of Yip man, this is one of the best chinese movies i watched from 2008, perhaps one of the best chinese movies that gave me faith that there is still hope in HK cinema. Its been a very long time i didnt watch a movie that kept in hanging on the cliffs for the whole movie, as well as taking a breath in relief after watching the ending. But my CNY good movie spreed was almost spoiled by watching the twins mission on TV. Thank god for the edison scandal that should get rip of all possible twins movie This post has been edited by travis_ckf: Feb 8 2009, 11:45 AM

Milk - 6.5 out of 10
The film started off with too many gay kissing scenes that made me feel too awkward and uncomfortable. The whole film wasn't exactly incredibly interesting, it was just okay. I personally didn't like it. But the acting was amazing from Sean Penn and James Franco.
