Watchmen is a 'Love it or Hate it' kind of movie, so I've heard. Watching it today.

Movies watched over the weekends and holiday:

Disaster Movie - 2/10
lots of reference to movies, very pointless but some LOL parodies like the chipmunks laugh.gif

Surf's Up - 3.5/10
lame stories, except some nice songs and nice water effects

Speed Racer - 10/10 thumbup.gif
a damm 1337 movie! tapping my feet unstoppably! the roars, the speed, the manoeuvre, the flashy, the characters all speedilicious!

Watchmen - 8.5/10

It.Was.So.Friggin.Goooooood.

The story so deep and detailed and there were such interesting stories about the individual characters and their past. The action scenes were absolutely breath-taking. So similar to 300 with the slow motion fight scenes. Loved it so so so much! I am officially a Zack Snyder fan.

And the film has made me wanna read the graphic novels. Anybody know where I can get my hands on the novels?

I downloaded it to have a little preview before buying the comic, and there is a vast difference in the image quality (at least there is in the 300mb one I downloaded). Just go get the comic. Try getting the coupon in StarTwo two weeks ago and get yourself to Kinokuniya KLCC and buy it 30% off - RM48 after discount.

watched another one today..

Happy Go Lucky - 6.5/10
i wan to like this movie but it did disappoint me a bit, not really make u feel good as i thought.. the happiness showed is a bit over-reacted and fake.. i think gisele from enchanted still the best happy persona! wub.gif anyway the revelation of the driving instructor is the best part of the movie.. i kinda LOL'ed at it!

Let The Right One In - A Swedish vampire/horror movie. Oddly, I found it a bit unsatisfying in the end yet there is a lot to admire here. The plot itself is rather simple - a young, lonely boy who meets a young (in appearance) female vampire and some kind of love/odd friendship kindles, but it is very well told. The first half is rather too slow for my tastes, but the mood is excellent, and this is a damn well shot film. Some of the scenes are so effective because of how they were shot, key amongst them the swimming pool scene. There isn't a lot of blood and violence, but coupled with the atmosphere and cinematography, when the gore does come, it is very jolting. Twilight this is not. A film I will probably watch again a few months down the road. 4/5

May i add Taken in your list.....budget action movie at its best...very high ratings and even a top spot in US cinema.
