The other guys (2010):

-5.5/10
-good start, then it all went down hill...
-not as good as i'd hoped

Buried (2010) :

-7.5/10
-The best release since Inception.
-Superb acting IMO.
-Very nice manipulation of something so restrained.

Law Abiding Citizen

finally got time to watch it few days back, a very good story about a revenging father/husband, but spoilt by a bad ending doh.gif

Fox's acting was so so only, didn't gave him chance to shine, whereas Butler's acting is better than Fox in this film, maybe bcos he gets to act a more complex character wink.gif

this. the explanation on how he did it are ridiculous, no way he get it done all by himself. though, great start and good idea.

Winter's Bone - 10/10

Watched this movie last nite, and it is worth every minute of it thumbup.gif Many pundits already predicted that this movie will be one of the strong contenders for Best Picture of The Year award. I never heard any of the cast, though i think maybe there was one time i did saw that leading actress in another movie but forgot what the title. sweat.gif

This movie oso reminds me about another excellent movie, a french or is it belgium movie hmm.gif called My Queen Karo, which i watched 2-3 months ago. I wonder how they teach the kids to act like a pro... it seems so real as if those are their real life situation or how they live their life.

________________________________________________________________

Just an update...well, just watched it...not bad, not bad at all...very realistic movie without all those Hollywood effects ..

But I kinda gave it 6.5/10..which is oledi quite good for my level. It could have been better..this is one movie which is a bit dull yet interesting as a whole.

Came back watched Red tonight:-

An okay movie - had some good moments but there are some that drags a little.

If those scenes that drags were eliminated, it would have been awesome...

Serenity [2005]

few weeks ago, i read somewhere that this film listed as 'The Greatest Science Fiction of All Time' (poll made by movie magazine or something). TBH, i never heard of it.. and i just watched it yesterday..

its continuity of US TV series, Firefly (which i dont know about it too).. only 1 actress i recognize, cute Summer Glau (from Sarah Connor Chronicles)

overall, its a very good film. for comparison, the CGI not as good as Star Wars (new trilogy), but the story are much better.. but certainly will not get my vote as 'The Greatest Science Fiction of All Time'..

I watched Serenity first before it convinced me to watch Firely....but then...I really have to say need to watch Firely first to appreciate Serenity...so..I can't really say which to watch first...

I think both are good fun...but as you said, not the Greatest...

u hav to watch Firefly first to fully appreciate Serenity...i did this n it was exciting to see how the special effect got a total make over...it feels like watching the old tv series star trek and get the series finale in a JJ Abrams star trek remake quality...plus they also resolve the main plot from the series...

that's why i totally agree when the movie is called one "The Greatest Science Fiction of All Time"...
such a tragedy that the movie flop horribly at the box office... cry.gif

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind [2004]

romantic fantasy film, really brilliant! im quiet clueless and lost interest at first 20minutes, but when i gripped out the film actual time line, a real excitement coming along..

rare combination of Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey, worked out really well..

The Social Network (2010)

Been a big fan of David Fincher(Se7en, Fight club) for quite some time. Heard of Aaron Sorkin but never really watch anything he writes before this.

Fincher's direction is great, fantastic pacing. Couldn't really enjoy Fincher scenes especially the rowing scene since its a cam version. Eisenberg and Garfield was great. The most surprising part is Timberlake acting, was very good in this movie.

Lots of memorable quotes

There's even Tyler Durden name in here if you watch it properly.

Overall, its 8.5/10 for me. Almost two hours, quite short for a Fincher movie.

Same guy playing the twins, didn't know it was CGI till after I finish watching it.
