Honestly glad to be chatting with someone that is acutely aware of the batcrazy product overlap world of tyres and the borderline scammy nature of it in terms of pricing and region engineering.

Yes UUHP is another equally head scratching segment. I call that segment the ' sports car ego feeder' because honestly i have tried supersports on my weekend car and it's just not as versatile as the all around uhp ( max performance) segment i love. They take time to heat up, they are very focused just on pure grip and a bit scary in rain. If we lived in southern France ok la i guess.

Tyres have gotten very competent so that segment is diminished returns. Max Performance segment is just perfect.
It can match the grippy guys and still deliver near touring level of comfort and wear and not to mention weather proof in Malaysia and i LOVE IT.

China tyres have become better but they lack finesse and balance but I'm sure they will get there

Thanks for the tip on tyre shop.  But i think like you said MC7 supply is possibly being 'managed' in the market to create FOMO to those who don't really research well.

Another shop I can suggest is Oscar tyre in kota kemuning. Apparently they are cartel and they undercut almost all shops. Kl side ASO tyre is quite good.
Yes FK520 have improved A LOT in response. Falken is now on par with the Europeans i feel. They have pulled far ahead of brands like Yokohama, Toyo etc. I also like the fact they continue to produce FK series only in Japan. No brand dilution like Michelin and Conti by switching  UHP ASEAN production to lesser factories. I use it on another car in the household. Excellent.

Btw u know any good tyre alignment shops in KL area? I usually go to Kin Alignment is Sunway. Fella is good but expensive AF.

Wow awesome comment bro. What's your weekend car?

Hi. What tires would be significantly quieter than the Toyo Proxes R45 23/60R18?
*
I'm using Goodyear Assurance Maxguard SUV 235/50R18.

Significantly quieter than Hankook Ventus Prime 3. Comparable to Michelin Primacy 4.

PS5, that size, if it me, will settle at Oscar Bukit Kemuning. Rm8** is retail price for PS4 back in 2018 in Kajang, but I got at rm520/pcs at Oscar, 235/45/18.

So far droved 1k with MC7, I find it more forgiving to drive on uneven roads. Grip is on par with PS4, gave the same confidence, but still not sure on the long run.

Was turning into Kota Damansara from NKVE north to sound bound, weather was still drizzling after heavy rain. Took the turn with 85km/h planted! Balls of steel can try turning at even higher speed.

IMHO, if I didn’t know tires was changed, I might think is still PS4 ; the sound breaker 3.0 doesn’t apply for Civic FE 😂 only part is when I pass by those ‘bridge connectors’… I won’t feel the ‘dip’ as harsh.

Noticed some difference between PS4 and MC7 is driving on cement roads.
previously living in condo / office basement floor is cement, PS4 had hard time gripping on… driving 15km/h also will show traction control light if there’s puddle of water.

Haven’t experience this with MC7…

Given the price so close to PS5, even exceeding it.. I won’t choose it.

Thanks for the video shared. My conclusion is the Hankook ion tyre is the winner overall 😂 it’s not even the top performance tyre from Hankook.

740le, normally, running pirelli pZero RFT, have to change front tyre every year due to wear on the shoulder no matter how many times allignment done and suspension checking, changed to MC7, want to know non RFT feels. Testing on wet after 1k km, Grip wise on wet was meh, will go back to pirelli next year.

It's the same idea from me for this brand on wet traction, dry ok la. Worst experienced for UC6 on wet, buddies of mine same feedback for MC6, he and me wont repeat this Continental brand if need wet traction, unless it is Continental SportContact 7 as many tyre reviewer from abroad.

Mistakenly bought 4 MC7 (225 50 R17) and used for a week through super hot and heavy rain days.
The grip is definitely better than my previous UC6;
UC6 never skid on turns but had some power loss due to slip (traction control) when accelerating from 0kmph on wet road. MC7 never skid/ power loss from slip.
MC7 road noise is quite noticeable.
MC7 treadwear can see clearly not going to last longer than my old UC6 :'(
Probably a good tyre for fun drive in cars with higher horse power.
For daily/ family car, or in my case, long distance driving, i think better get UC7 because UC7 is around RM50 more expensive per tyre (on Shopee).

how i got my tyres:
i went to conti official outlet, ordered tyres from shopee official conti store, they install the tyres they have in stock so i dont have to wait for my tyres to arrive.
how i mistakenly bought MC7 instead of UC7:
my gf ordered the tyres on her shopee because i had to work on my laptop at the time. when i checked on her, she completed payment already

I'm assuming better get UC7 over MC7 because total extra 200 bucks, in addition to faster wear from the grippier MC7, yes?

Thanks for explaining on the mistake and how you gotten your tires. I'm definitely asking that if you didn't ! laugh.gif
