Just as expected...

Those didn't update...

Would use existing data from DOSM (Banci 2022), STR & others Government aid database....

Still didn't says how much & what qualifications needed / considered....

joke is... those already receiving will continue to receive.... if they didn't fall into the trick of updating PADU...

so technically the subsidies at national lvl will most probably remain or go up if they didn't change the quantum at individual level.

Those so called "high income areas" like Petaling district is the highest didn't update on PADU....

Please don't tell me... All don't have smartphone & internet connection / data plan 🤪

Rural areas very high take up rates...

just visit any physical counters (I went to one of the kaunter bergerak)

tell them you cannot go through / fail "pengesahan dan perakuan"

hand them your IC

then once they finish doing something on their laptop will hand you back your IC and ask you to login again

you will fail to login as expected, so just reset your password again in padu.gov.my

then once login should be able to submit without eKYC

This must thank the EM for being smart. If no reason to update since been telling every M40 and T20 that they won't get subsidies, then why poor M40 in PJ want to update? M40 in PJ maybe actually bottom T20 at national level.

Rural ones sure uptick cos they don't have income tax files most probably.

So I think subsidies at country level won't go down.

trying to cut subsidies is a very difficult thing, the biggest chunk being petrol.

petrol ron95 price rm2.06 a liter is way too cheap; singapore rm10, other asean countries rm6-7.

cheap petrol = more cars, more big cars, more small cars... traffic jams very teruk everywhere now.

i think they will cut petrol subsidy first, maybe cut by RM1.

even at RM3 per liter, it is still v cheap compared to most countries.

those already in some dbase, give subsidy... PADU qualified + previously receiving bantuan.

still, expect inflation to incr big, prices of everything will spike.

Citing the latest mapping system to identify which areas in the country with lowest Padu registrations, Rafizi said constituencies such as Seputeh, Segambut and Bukit Bintang had the highest number of residents who had yet to register into the government system.

and that is what annoys me... blasting like an idiot saying subsidies only for bottom B40... M40 and T20 will not get a single cent.

and then now play the non game... why nons not registering, indirectly implying that T20 are made up of nons only.

and in same time, cannot even guarantee that info won't be leaked or sold or worst still, used by current and future gov for witch hunts. Imagine MACC knock on your door and ask you to prove this and that.

and in same time, blaming non for his PADU being unable to collect enough data.... And in same time said no PADU, no subsidies... so the M40 and T20 don't want subsidies ... and now blame them for not filling data.... they should fill the database for what???? ops... i also pening kepala already... brain cannot compute... hahaha

from the article you linked.

Ahmad Maslan says in 2022, consumption of fuel by the B40 was only 24%, compared to 41% by the M40 and 35% by the T20.

hence by stats, T20 didn't use up the majority of the subsidies... lol

going by this report, petrol related stuff makes up the bulk of the subsidy given out.

if petrol subsidy removed from t20 and top half of m40, probably can save more than half the subsidy already.

that was not your statement...

you said highest subsidy consumption is by t20, implying the bulk of the subsidies were used by t20.
same idea like highest gdp is SG or MY?

per capita, sure I can agree.

It is like T20 pays the most taxes and spends the most. hence any subsidies that is basically consumption based will be used by them the most, especially on per capita basis.

well it says on average t20 spend rm399, b40 spend rm243. 35% of subsidy consumed by 20% of ppl. 41% of subsidy consumed by 40%. well, sorry if there's any misunderstanding. but u get the idea.
