Based on the article, it mentioned about "Ini kerana, isi rumah diklasifikasikan kepada mereka yang tinggal bersama dalam satu rumah menggunakan peruntukan sama untuk bayaran utiliti, keperluan dapur dan kehidupan seharian tetapi yang dibangkitkan adalah mereka yang tinggal berasingan dan mempunyai tanggungan besar"

https://www.astroawani.com/berita-malaysia/...si-pakar-452601

Can't really get the point.
Can't remember well. Retired, no income at all. 'Tanggungan' from me.

Maybe don't fill up first, wait and see.

M40 here, with minimum commitment. To show government we have parents to support, even is stay apart. Of course at the end is hope can get some subsidiary especially like petrol.
If based on family income, then no point to fill up as last eMadani also not get.

ah ok... understand.

Then unless the gov is transparent and forthcoming in their formula/criteria on who qualifies for subsidies, it is really up to you.
Since based on family income, there are no subsidies (and yet somehow your parents are getting STR/subsidies), it is up to you if you wish to be transparent and risk your parents's status of currently obtaining STR.

my suggestion is either to wait or don't include your parents... so that they can continue getting STR.

T20 uses 17b of petrol subsidy
M40+B40 uses 12b of petrol subsidy (based on NST today's report of total 29b)

The Govt should wean EVERYONE of subsidy by increasing the petrol price by month

Mar= RM2.05
Apr= RM2.20
May= RM2.40
Jun= RM2.60
Jul = RM2.80
Aug= RM3.00

m40 here also.

never fill in your parents part of your household in PADU, since you say stay apart.
like me, i only fill in my wife.

my mother will be separate.

last time my late father used to receive STR. then i went to LHDN to change the recipient to my mother.
this is to ensure she will continues to receive STR.

me alone can't bear most of her monthly expenses (electricity, water, astro, telco, house maintenance, groceries). STR is the only thing that could assist me in keeping her expenses.

On Monday, Rafizi cautioned that individuals who are eligible for government assistance are at risk of being left out from the first round of aid eligibility determination after the targeted subsidy programme is implemented if they do not update their data in Padu.

Instead, he said those individuals would have to wait for the next round when Padu reopens for updates at a regular frequency level that will be determined by the government later.

Now telling something else... No update no subsidies....

Please make up your mind...
Which is which now....

in that context, "update" should mean register as new, fill up info.

anyway, if they wanna cut out 80% of the rakyat and benefit only 20%, the consequences will be severe.

the normal spending will slow tremendously, economy grinds to a halt.

i doubt any menteri wants to be accountable for this awful scenario.

okay, maybe can do U turn as usual! tongue.gif

...
not only petrol. maybe rice too. this targeted subsidies thingy is complex but looks like a sure thing coming:

Govt may introduce targetted subsidies for rice, says Mat Sabu
https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/03/...e-says-mat-sabu
..
Anwar's government said it aims to distribute subsidies in a "more targeted" way but has yet to unveil the delivery mechanism. The central bank today warned about the risk of shocking prices and businesses if Putrajaya's plan to redirect the subsidies is not done carefully.

The problem is that Padu is actually a political tool by Rafizi to score big. Its no secret that Rafizi is very ambitious and both he & bmx had a major falling out few years back.

Rafizi main objective is use Padu to show that he has the people's support. Right now, bmx is very unpopular and by getting even 20 million registers. He can oust bmx in the next ge and become pm especially if bmx continues to perform dismally on the pretext that padu is a sucess and even better if he can actually improve the govt financial situation.using padu

That's the reason why rafizi is panicking and giving mix signals when by right yhe government should be glad that the registration numbers are low. In theory, the govt can spin and say the economy is doing well and fewer people need subsidies under their watch.

I would advise not to get your hopes up that you will get any subsidy . The govt is already very tight on money and once they see you are upper m40. The chances are practically nil.

Even if in the future the govt allow people to appeal and meet in person 1 on1. You will have a very hard time to convince them that you are eligible for fuel subsidi.

E.g.unless u can show proof that after deducting all essential expenses and the cost of unsubsidized fuel leave you with negative balance. Then they may consider & give u some subsidies.

But if you have rm1000 as spending money after deduction each month. Then govt not going to layan.

I would be happy if they can tell what are they and how they set the limits and what are the limits (amount ) that suits my income.
