That's just an excuse they've recycled before. When I was waiting for my 2018 Turbo upgrade from 100Mb/s to 800Mb/s, they initially moved me to 500Mb/s and falsely claimed that my area didn't support 800Mb/s—even though my neighbor was already at that speed.I took action by getting my neighbor to share their UniFi account details, and I filed a complaint with the MCMC to expose TM's dishonesty. Surprisingly, just a few hours after I lodged the complaint, TM upgraded my line to 800Mb/s.
You should consider raising a ticket with the MCMC as well. It could make a difference.
