I also tried asking tm but they keep saying my area not yet support but the house beside me is using 1gbps already ( house beside me is not free upgrade ).
That's just an excuse they've recycled before. When I was waiting for my 2018 Turbo upgrade from 100Mb/s to 800Mb/s, they initially moved me to 500Mb/s and falsely claimed that my area didn't support 800Mb/s—even though my neighbor was already at that speed.

I took action by getting my neighbor to share their UniFi account details, and I filed a complaint with the MCMC to expose TM's dishonesty. Surprisingly, just a few hours after I lodged the complaint, TM upgraded my line to 800Mb/s.

You should consider raising a ticket with the MCMC as well. It could make a difference.

Update:
I just received a call from TM to arrange the installation for my speed upgrade from 800Mb/s to 1Gb/s. They will be coming this weekend. For those who haven't yet received their speed upgrade, I recommend following suit and filing a complaint with MCMC.

I raised a ticket yesterday and already received a call for the upgrade today. How's that for proof that TM takes MCMC tickets seriously?

soonwai I only remember you. Perhaps you could tag other users with 800Mb/s who haven't received their speed upgrade yet.

Been informed (unofficially) that only those customers currently paying at least RM239 on their  800 mbps plan will get free upgrade to 1Gbps.
Utter nonsense. I'm paying RM189 for my 800Mb/s, and I'll be receiving the speed upgrade this weekend.

Glad to hear that. Could you share us your "template" that you wrote to MCMC?
Sure
1st step is to choose the correct options as per the image below

On the next page, this is what I chose:

And as for the complain description, this is my message

CODE
UniFi Account: #########
As of April 2024, I have not yet received the anticipated speed upgrade from 800Mb/s to 1Gb/s. Despite their initial commitment to provide this upgrade to 800Mb/s subscribers at the commencement of 2024, no such enhancement has been forthcoming. Furthermore, I have noticed that UniFi has removed the upgrade notification from my account. However, I have retained a screenshot of the original message for reference, as attached.

Finally, I've added the image below as attachment in "Others"
It may not be the same for you as that image states my current UniFi package

Hope it helps thumbsup.gif

Is your technician gonna be helping you to configure the combo device into bridge mode?
I'm not quite sure. It's unfortunate that TM doesn't provide this knowledge to all their onsite technicians, especially when it's crucial information for customers who ask for it.

But hey, since I'm only getting 1Gb/s anyway, I can simply repurpose the old BTU. Plus, my home Wi-Fi is still operating on Wi-Fi AC, so I wouldn't be able to fully leverage the 1Gb/s speed anyway!

If the technician can't handle it, I'll simply give it a shot myself.

I mean you have to remember that most TM technicians are considered out sourced and rarely is trained by TM professionally.
I am aware of that, but TM ought to enforce bridge setup training for all their outsourced contractors.
While bridge mode might not be a concern for typical home users, it becomes crucial in office environments. Given that many offices rely on their own routers/firewalls that does the PPPoE dial up & DHCP management.

for me I noticed that
Cloudflare, Quad9 has MY servers
Google and Cisco OpenDNS's nearest servers are in SG
Never knew about Quad9 until today. Thank you for that
Will be testing it tonight. But with the underwater sea cable broken, I doubt it's going to fix much of the issues we're having today

I also opened MCMC ticket on 24 Apr and today TM called me to arrange free 1Gpbs upgrade smile.gif
That's great news! thumbup.gif
Anyone else who's waiting for the 800Mb/s upgrade should go ahead and raise a ticket with MCMC.

I'm really looking forward to the installation this weekend. Although, I haven't received a call from the TM contractor yet to confirm the finalized schedule.

I'm also gotten this response from TM yesterday but surprise today morning got call from TM that I'm getting free upgrade to 1Gbps and enquire about appointment and need change equipment ONR But haven't got date yet...
I'm in the same boat. When they called me on Tuesday, April 23rd, I tried to schedule an appointment for this weekend, but the agent couldn't confirm availability.
I followed up with another call to the helpline 100 this morning to confirm the appointment, but they're still unable to secure one as no contractor has picked up the job yet. It's looking unlikely for this weekend, but keeping my fingers crossed! biggrin.gif

My order got cancelled out of the blue. No explanation, no calls, no texts, no emails—nothing at all.
Updated my MCMC ticket with the screenshot for them to explain why.

She said there's quite a lot of 800Mbps users hence they are prioritizing those who's bill is above RM200/month for the upgrade then only look into those below 200 bill  dry.gif
That seems a bit unfair. Just because our bills are under RM200 doesn't mean we shouldn't get the same upgrade attention. We're all paying customers, after all.

I'm paying about RM240 per month they just contact after I report MCMC
Proof that their explanation is just an excuse for the delayed upgrade

TM has officially confirmed an appointment for my speed upgrade from 800Mb/s to 1Gb/s. Here's hoping for a smooth execution without any hitches.

tonight seems better than few days back sweat.gif
Agreed, it's much better tonight.
However, it's still not as good as the pre-COVID era where everything loads instantly. After COVID, it seems like they've never really fixed the broken submarine cable.

Excited for my speed boost tomorrow! Even though it won't do squat for latency, hey, it's free! LOL laugh.gif

not latest ONR 2.5 port ?
No. I spoke with the onsite contractor regarding the ONR with a 2.5Gb/s LAN 1 port. He mentioned that they just completed training on that specific hardware last week.
However, the hardware is not expected to be released until the earliest by the first week of June 2024.

Oh, and the new ONR is actually a completely different hardware, and it comes in black. He showed me a photo of it on his phone.

Not getting full 1gbps?? Does they install new ONR or newer one?
TM is still using the D-Link DPN-FX3060V with 1Gb/s LAN ports as the replacement ONR.
New ONR with 2.5Gb/s LAN ports is not released yet as stated in my previous post.
