» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Unfortunately my Solar journey ends here . Click the spoiler to see pictures. As per whatsapp from the solar company engineering team, my roof structure cannot support the weight of the solar panels "Kayu ni boleh pecah kalau kita drill, bila da masuk L + railing + panel , possibility utk kayu tu mengepak dan pecah tinggi tu". This means im stuck with a rm700+ tnb bill every month from now on salimbest83 liked this post

QUOTE(JohnLai @ May 24 2024, 09:05 PM) I got a feeling that this is not a properly built house, rather it is a warehouse with no permit......... The last time the structure of the roof was done I wasnt even born yet, probably over 35+ years ago.A properly roofing support will not use that kind of wood.....ada occupational permit ke ni? The one i remember was the change of roof material from asbestos to zinc, and that was during my primary school years This post has been edited by Boy96: May 24 2024, 10:23 PM |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ May 25 2024, 06:38 AM) Rm700 monthly bill, whats the main contribution? If it AC, suggest changing all to 5 stars inverter first. It drop my monthly bill massively cz previously use old AC which are not efficient All the 3 AC's are already inverter but they are running night and day , not 24 hours but during the hotter time of the day. Ive looked into the daily stats, on days that there's no one at home, idle consumption is 6kWh daily, normal day usage is 35kWh, and on days when I charge the EV (once every 4 days), daily consumption is 70kWhQUOTE(Avangelice @ May 25 2024, 08:52 AM) 700 bill. That kind of roof means your house is heating up rapidly due to that kind of roof. Suggestion Look for quotes for roof renovation. QUOTE(aLittleMisfit @ May 25 2024, 10:31 AM) bro. from looks of it your house suffers from heat. try insulate it. change to PU metal roof helps a lot Probably need to look into it already. But don't know where to start and who to look for. Later need to do more researchThis post has been edited by Boy96: May 25 2024, 10:46 AM |

QUOTE(gaman @ May 25 2024, 11:06 AM) Perhaps you could install metal bracings anchored to main building's structure on top those existing metal roofing to support solar panels? This is what i saw on some other house in my neighbourhood. But the solar company i asked about this and they refuse to recommend this method. Dont know why, they just said it wont work..This post has been edited by Boy96: May 25 2024, 11:12 AM |

QUOTE(dwRK @ May 25 2024, 03:17 PM) without aircon your ceiling very hot? then imho... first thing to consider is reduce heat into your house... consider these... Hmm ive never tried touching the ceiling during the day. Will try later see how. But eventually will still need solar as we phase out all the ice car at home for an EV in the coming futureroof ventilation... bubble foil insulation below zinc roof... orchid netting above roof... heat reflecting roof paint... insulated zinc roof as mentioned next is leakage of cold air from inside the house... no point keep cooling but cold air keep escaping...
