Hi all,
Good day.
I recently moved to new place and applied for 300mbps but pending due to limited ports.
"Greetings from unifi. We regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed with your order for now due to limited ports in your area. We are in the midst of upgrading our network with additional ports to serve you better. Please allow 7-14 business days for our network team to set up the service for you. We will inform you once there are available ports in your area. In the meantime, you can keep track of your order status for updates. "
Hence the only solution is to go for Unifi Air 5G.
Wondering if anyone using Unifi Air 5G, can provide your feedback.
Any problem with latency?
Any Frequent connection problem?
Is the speed really 150mbps ?
All 5G plans in Malaysia are using DNB’s equipment. Any 5G plans are basically cut from the same kilt.
If you’re still planning on moving to Fibre when it becomes available, go for U Home 5G and a cheap 5G modem on Shopee/Lazada while waiting for Unifi to free up ports.
UMB has a flat cap of 1TB for both 4G/5G but no contract if SIM only
Yes 5G has a 100GB Cap for 4G and no cap on 5G and no contract if SIM only
Unifi 5G has no cap for both but you need to take their device and sim and be tied down to a contract for 2 years
In short term, if your data usage isn’t too high and you’re in coverage of UMB 4G, go for that. I have a Yes FT5G SIM and even in my iP15Pro, I lose connection to it sometimes, but my UMB 5G has been rock solid on my Z Fold 3 on both 4G/5G. Yes has unlimited for 5G but in the event of bad reception, falling back to 4G is probably gonna be a worse experience. Unifi is self explanatory, 2 years contract if you’re gonna move to Fibre anyway, it’s a waste of money

UMB 68/m + 600 ish 5G router
