The MESH6 only matter is easy to sold high price or not, then you can rebuy better unit on 12.12 sale.

As fiberhome you can only update firmware by TM pushing it, and only main router can receiving it....

I just had the Unifi people come and switch my package over to 500 Mbps. However, my Asus 86u seems to be capping the speeds at 100 Mbps.

When they used the Fibrehome router connections to local servers were fine but to overseas servers were only around 5 Mbps download and about 50 Mbps for uploads which was really strange. The installer said he had done his job as all TM was concerned about was speed to local servers.

Has anyone experienced this and what was the fix?

TM server gives 134.26 Mbps download, 94.92 Mbps upload

My Mac says the Tx rate is 260 Mbps on the 5GHz spectrum. The Asus router page says WAN is capable of 1 Gbps.

Any ideas if my router settings are wrong?

Wan to ask. my place office got register 500mps.
they give a modem D-Link AX1860Z, which when test, can upto <300
Problem is that modem, seem very lousy wifi, even my downstair cannot connect it
some function also not same as TPlink

When i use back my old TPlinkAC1200, the speedtest drop to <100.
i got a lot wifi printer setting and config on AC1200.

Do i must use D-Link modem to get 500mps?
i also got a TPlinkAX1500. If i set this as router, will i get the <300 speedtest?

I more LIKE setting on TPLink then the Dlink

run speedtest from your AC86 directly to confirm actual internet speed.
AC86u can easily support 500mbps Wifi.

If you are getting 500mbps when u do speedtest in your router, but NOT ANY your devices, the problem lies in the router settings.

If some devices itself is unable but others can. Then problem might be with the router settings or the device is just unable to hit 500mbps due to some other factors.

i was previously using AC86u as main mesh router on 500mbps, now that unit is being used as mesh node.
Main router is now GT AC2900.

So I stick a notebook to one of the LAN ports and see if I can get 500 Mbps and if so then it is my router settings that is the issue - I just wonder what it could be.

I will need to borrow a notebook from someone as my computers are too large and far away to lug.

Actually, I realise I do not need to do that. The AC 86u has a speedtest function and my download speed to local servers exceed the 500 Mbps like you say. Upload is 114.42.

So I guess the issue is with my settings.

How to troubleshoot and see what is wrong?

• wifi protocol 802.11b?

• QoS rate limit set too low?

wifi protocol is AC - at least that is what my Mac says.

QoS is not enabled - do I enable it and what settings should I put?

Im still using mesh 5 haha.

7 years old AC88U + 2x Blue Cave AiMesh. Speed result still managed to get full 500mbps on wifi.

Enable NAT Boost, done.

Wonder did he same issues, the QoS/NAT Boost killing it, lol.

But I think he should check wifi with iperf3, the local transfer normal or not.

Yes, 500M as long without any interference from neighbor, it will works.
Not until ur wall too thin, the signal passed to your house, + neighbor using 1Gbps + p2p all time, lol.
