errrr.... I got 1.75Gbps/750Mbps using the stock ONR and ASUS load balancing.
it's not impossible if using multi-threaded connection. Just pain in the ass for having to construct and maintain all the unnecessary complications.
*
Mind to share how you configure load balancing on your ASUS router?

Does Unifi still offer an ONR unit for the 1 Gbps plan similar to its 2 Gbps plan as stated in its PDF document (General-FAQ-unifi-Home-Plan.pdf), or has it been replaced by an ONU unit?

i'm recalling from memory since I've sold off the ASUS.

this setup is meant to deliver more than 1Gbps limitation of single port under assumption that client applications creates multi-threaded UDP/TCP connections when they link to Internet IP addresses, and those connections can be spread equally over 2*1Gbps port. Each link is still capped to theoretical max 1Gbps of the constituent hardware port of the DWN-FX3060V.

it won't work beyond 1Gbps if application only rely on a single link.

in the DWN-FX3060V ONR
  • terminate PPPoE dialling in the DWN-FX3060V.
  • Setup>WAN>PON
    • LAN1 and LAN2 assigned to PPPoE connection, downstream VLAN tagging unchecked
  • Setup>LAN>
    • Primary Subnet - 192.168.11.1/24
    • (OPTIONAL, set to OFF if not intended) Setup>LAN>Secondary Subnet - 192.168.22.1/24
  • Services>DHCP>DHCP Server Mode not neceesary, but recommended
  • Advance>Loop Detection - don't matter enabled or disabled when used with RT-AX86U
  • cable up using CAT5e or better
    • LAN1 to WAN port of RT-AX86U
    • LAN2 to 2.5G port of RT-AX86U
in the RT-AX86U
  • Dual-WAN and WAN Aggregation are competing setting; disable WAN Aggregation on WAN config.
  • under Dual-WAN config, enable 1:1 load balancing spread over WAN port and 2.5G port
  • if not using secondary LAN IP in DWN-FX3060V
    • Static WAN port IP: 192.168.11.2/24 gateway 192.168.11.1
    • Static 2.5G port IP: 192.168.11.3/24 gateway 192.168.11.1
  • if not using secondary LAN IP in DWN-FX3060V
    • Static WAN port IP: 192.168.11.2/24 gateway 192.168.11.1
    • Static 2.5G port IP: 192.168.22.2/24 gateway 192.168.22.1
  • cable up using CAT5e or better
    • WAN port to LAN1 port of DWN-FX3060V
    • 2.5G port to LAN2 port of DWN-FX3060V

Anything beyond 800Mbps is using AIO ONU, Ultra plans basically

I will get my free upgrade from 800 to 1000 Mbps next year. Do I need to change my router? Current router is TPLink AX11000. Thanks

No, you'll get all in one modem router from tm.

Keep your current router with AIO ONU in bridge mode but limit yourself to 940-950Mbps peak due to TCP overhead via both WiFi and LAN

Or

Use D-Link ONR but lose some functionality when compared to your TPLink, but you get to hit over 940Mbps assuming conditions is ideal via WiFi but still the same on LAN.

Your move

No, unless you’re gonna be using LACP, which is also not true 2Gbps

Sorry to burst your bubble  cool2.gif

the stock d link ONR will only bring you up to max 1G connection, you will never achieve true 2G download speed with it

If you don't intend to switch to SFP+ solution, it is fine but you need to lower down your expectation
*
So with the stock d-link, LAN = won't be more that 1 gbps, but wireless can be more than 1gbps?

No 3rd party modem/router (without the need to do special adjustments) can help to achieve more than 1gbps download speed for LAN connection?

Thanks!

... yeah, if you manage to replicate the ideal test lab conditions that resulted in it getting AX3000 rating sweat.gif

If you somehow live in a place with 0 wireless interference then maybe, but in real world, unlikely

I have an AX5400 Enterprise grade AP and I can’t pull anything more than 600-700Mbps on my iPhone 15 Pro. If you want to save cost without the feeling of getting fake 2Gbps, just go for 1Gbps.

You’re a gamer which you’ll only benefit from faster downloads speeds and low latency. You can get more than 1Gbps on wireless but gaming on wireless is not something that you want to do right? And via LAN you can only pull at most 940Mbps under ideal conditions

In conclusion, save the extra money for 2Gnps or wait until TM is not stingy enough to give a ONU/ONR with 2.5Gbps port.

But hey your money your rules. That’s just where I’m coming at with a 1Gbps plan, yes I’ll get upgraded to 2Gbps for free next year and I’m willing to go the SFP GPON ONU route, but you don’t want that which you’ll just be paying TM extra for not much utilization

yeah, i'm also wait-and-see before deciding what to do further with this 2Gbps pretender....
really flip table if TM give proper ONU for new 2Gbps but refuse to do the same for exisiting 2Gbps. sudahlah harga tak mahu revise down to match you guys 1Gbps->2Gbps.

I mean the 2Gbps would be the most vocalized group considering everything, so they better be preparing their OEM 2.5G ONU or else whistling.gif

Sorry to say it is because iphone wifi suck. Some top end android can reach with 1.5gbps side by side with router without pressure, with AX3000.

Morning all, thx to this thread, I managed to subscribe SWU3.0 (M6) but was given only 1 router (FiberHome), my previous unit is FiberHome too, is this the reason on why I was only given 1 unit to mesh with my existing Fiberhome? šŸ˜…

.... TM works - and thinks - in mysterious ways.
difficult to say lah. just countercheck with the post-installation summary email that you received the correct number of gadgets.

Any screenshots? As far as I’m aware, there isn’t any difference. I have a Z Fold 3 as well and it’s doing the same/similar results

Z Fold 3 is by no end the most high end android device but FastConnect 6900 in the Snapdragon 888 is already capable on reaching 3.6Gbps

Yes, I am aware that 160Mhz is not supported by iPhones , my AP currently is running in 160Mhz mode at the moment

I don't have 2gbps plan to test it, but i saw from some fb group.
Here is the speedtest from the group.
