Telcos are delaying it because the new pricing should be lower than current SWU 3.0.

Just ask 1 question: will the future lower pricing able to get 6 months free too?

All the while, the binding is: can always upgrade, but not downgrade or cancel.

Let's say, in future, 800Mbps is selling at rm129. You can always upgrade to 800Mbps at rm129 too. Better still if it comes right after the SWU 3.0 6 months free period, then the scenario would become free internet for 6 months, then upgrade to 800Mbps.

If 500Mbps is selling at rm119, you can always upgrade to 500Mbps too, which becomes the scenario of "permanent 500Mbps" for existing 300Mbps plan.

theoretically, u r right.

but i suspect the person dealing with u may hv the discretion NOT to allow an upgrade even at higher nominal price if it already carried some other goodies.

and we know every staff seems to be able to do things differently; that's why we have 1000 variations!

let's wait n see... i certainly hope u will be right, good for all then.

For some reason I have a feeling that TM going to announce turbo upgrade, but those already on SWU and under contract won't be eligible to get the free upgrade.

How do you know SWU with active contracts will not eligible to get the free upgrade?

from the latest FAQ, you can do downgrade also

https://unifi.com.my/sites/default/files/ht...August-2023.pdf

point 18

18 Can I upgrade / downgrade my Unifi Home plan?

 Yes, you are allowed to change to the higher/lower speed package at any time. However, depending
on your package selection, you will be tied to a new contract period if the package offers better value
such as it comes with a new device, discounted price or any other value added regardless of whether
you are within or beyond the contract period.

Yes. I think this is the case.

These few days, my speedtest is acting so strange. My current package is 500mbps (turbo). But when I tested it, the speed straight jumps to 800mbps, then go down and maintain at 500mbps. The upload speed also the same. Jump straight to 200mbps, then go down at 100mbps. I use unifi more than 10 years. This is the first time I encounter this.

Logical explanation is they upgrade my port to 800mbps without any notice. for preparation. Once fahmi announces the news, then my package will get the free upgrade.

Honestly, I prefer cheaper price instead of free upgrade.

Anyone using edgerouter x? How good is this router? I replaced it as during gobind’a day upgrading from 50->500Mbps the old Mikrotik got stuck at 100% cpu usage and cannot function at all.. can this router manage 1Gbps internet connection or above?
