how much contractor asked for installation
*
No document needed as I apply directly at unifi website, they will help u check for eligibility as long as u B40, aged 60 or above, OKU etc.

No installation fee needed as internal wiring not needed.

Hi all sifu here.
I using 500 mbps rm179 (149 + 30 ruby plus)
But I no using the unifi tv
I had been use this package for more than 5 year without contract
Today just saw got swu 3.0 thru fb.

Should I go to tm and change?
Any Better offer compare with my existing plan?

Thanks in advance
*
I have the exactly same plan like yours. So far, none of the SWU 3.0(500mbps) plans are cheaper or more valuable than our current one.

If you can live with 300mbps, go ahead and change.

If you want to stick with 500mbps, then don't change. Just wait for any offer/promotion/upgrade that better than this.

Yes, if you want to request internal cabling you can do so, but in my case not needed. They just drill hole thru the wall and connect fibre directly to ONU.

Any recommended router to replace the stock router provided by TM?
*
I run OpenWrt on Linksys E8450.

You can find it on Shopee "Linksys Official Shop". They're the only seller that I managed to find. Low Yat Plaza etc. seemed like no one was selling? ๐Ÿค”

Someone did their research and found it to be one of the best budget routers to use with OpenWRT: https://www.stephengrier.com/finding-the-ri...rt-wifi-router/

(Actually I'm using 2 of them for 802.11s mesh haha... Just done setting it up finally.)

Did you set QoS manually to 300M download on your router previously?

Update: For anyone running 1/2Gbps TM Ultra package with D-Link DPN-FX3060V

Currently changed over to Bridged mode and running OPNSense as my main router again.

So you got the router in default with how the installer installed it.

1) Go to setup tab > PON WAN > find Connection_0 on the interface (Namely PPPoE connection)
2) Go to Action - Edit, change protocol from PPPoE to Bridged, other settings you can either keep at default or change, such as QoS etc.
3) Connect LAN 1 to whichever router as WAN and set it up as PPPoE
4) Done, all your traffic is now through your own router rather than TM's D-Link

Note: Leave all the physical assignments and settings as is and don't change it to any mode. Just change from Connection type

All the firewall/port forwarding rules should be ignored on TM's own router and your own router should be taking care of all the forwarding. rclxm9.gif

Is this TM device people have been saying that once set to bridged mode you can't log in anymore to change settings?

Yes and no.
Yes being that you changing WAN mode from GPON Router to RG Router/GPON Bridge. And changing to GPON Bridge disables all access to it.
No being that that wasn't the mode that we were supposed to mess with, but changing PON WAN interface_0/connection_0 was the one we were supposed to change to enable us to run it in pure GPON ONU mode instead of AIO router mode.

Currently I have an active 5GHz radio running on it for me to access the GUI if needed, and I can just access with a manual IP setup on my devices. All my connection and routing on router level is all ran by my OPNSense VM.

Where got T20? RB750Gr3 below RM300 wor but router only, no wifi. Which is good also then you can upgrade/downgrade your wifi separately. Right now I using Mikrotik (1 old ac and 1 new ax) also for my wifi. Last year was TPLink x20. Before that m9 plus. Change all the time but router remain the same.
*
This is true, I am using ubiquiti udm se but Wi-Fi access point still using old deco x90. Working well with this setup, and zero downtime for a month already

Before this with just x90 alone internet used to go down multiple times daily for no reason, but my switching usage daily around 1tb (Mac Time Machine backup to NAS and Plex streaming)

for 2Gbps subscription, LAN port going to router's WAN is only 1Gbps. Are you able to make your downstream router squeeze all 2Gbps?

That's the reason I didn't go for bridging. I just terminate PPPoE on the ONR, then deal with squeezing 2Gbps from there. Right now able to get up to 1.75Gbps/750Mbps, which i think is bottleneck at local exchange.

Asus RT-AX86U WAN port can go up to 2.5Gbps.

That's why it is highly recommended, despite a bit pricey.

It's WiFi coverage is excellent too. Can cover entire house even without any mesh.

My house got more than 20 Wifi connected devices, including all my aircons, smart electronic appliances, smart sensors, ... all with stable connection to the router too.

i also used Asus RT-AX86U; yes it have 2.5Gbps port, but that only true if the other end also 2.5Gbps. Unfortunately the ONR is only max 1Gbps per port and no aggregation.

i would imagine if one send PPPoE bridging downline, that will be limited to max 1Gbps....

To make a proper comparison against mesh, can you share you your house size and if it's single/double/triple storey?

Aggregate on router side is the only one that I can think of, since the D-Link is only GBe, and thatโ€™s the bottleneck since gigabit overhead and whatever. If we want to squeeze out 2Gbps, only way is just with GPON SFP as far as I can tell, or a custom GPON 10G ONU
