QUOTE(ye0073 @ May 19 2024, 11:40 PM) US also got this low rate promotion. Maybe they are trying to clear the stock, and get ready for the new Model Y Juniper. Inventory is at all time high unfortunately, and also they are probably planning for Juniper release. Juniper release would be able to get the existing Model Y (their best seller to upgrade).

QUOTE(ye0073 @ May 20 2024, 09:07 AM) True. Can see from the website, there are many inventory units for model 3, and Y. No need to wait for your car if you ordered now. Some specific config not available, like M3SR White 18"... my friend waiting for this LOL. Others like M3SR White 19" then was available...

QUOTE(EnergyAnalyst @ May 25 2024, 09:49 AM) The only concern is the rapid price cut, all good deal will looks like bad one just a few weeks down the road Safest time to buy is just before tax holiday is over, hence after that with tax price kick in... it will never be cheaper... so wait until then. QUOTE(Prometric @ May 29 2024, 09:44 AM) Hi guys, am looking to purchase my first EV. Now im considering either the Model 3 LR or SR. Initially im looking at the LR but after much research i read that you shouldnt charge the LR to 100% full on daily basis. So the range for the SR & LR is roughly the same. I dont drive fast. I dont drive far. My car is mostly from my house to my workplace and back home. The furthest i drive will be back to my wife hometown which is only 150km away. Now my question is the difference in speaker/sound system and performance really that great? Only differences other than the dual motor is, the suede finish on the door (doesn’t matter if you going for white interior) and the speakers which I really enjoyed. Based on your explanation… SR is a better choice 🤣 no need spend the extra $ solely for the #DuaMotor

QUOTE(Prometric @ May 30 2024, 09:45 AM) I will test drive both soon and try it out and see which i prefer the most. Thanks ! confirm kena poisoned by the Dual Motor... But I think nowadays the test drive is locked to "chill" mode... maybe won't kena poisoned by the Dual Motor since can't test the "standard" mode. Back in Nov'23 when I test drive, it was just speed limited to 130 km/h, still can access "standard" mode. 2 months back I tried the MYLR... locked to "chill" mode. Sigh... this car feels so unresponsive

QUOTE(Prometric @ May 30 2024, 10:06 AM) haha but then again i think the SR is already very fast for me. Old man, scared to drive too fast Dua Motor is addictive... sure you won't be flooring it daily... but it is always there when you need it I don't even want to get started on the M3P... not gonna test drive too... gonna make me regret further not waiting for M3P. QUOTE(Prometric @ May 30 2024, 10:17 AM) Damn it, you're like devil. Poison gao gao but personally when I bought mine only had SR and LR... and the LR was so addictive on Standard mode. Plus the sound I'm pretty picky about it, so... LR it is.

QUOTE(johnnyenglish123 @ Jun 3 2024, 12:38 PM) Guys! Want to ask the battery of performance vs long range Is it a different battery tech? Which battery would fair better from day to day usage? If follow the original Model 3... both LR and P has same battery pack. Not sure if current highland has higher output battery pack, the capacity looked identical though. Both are NMC usable 77.6kW battery packs.

QUOTE(johnnyenglish123 @ Jun 3 2024, 05:41 PM) Seen some feedback for lr it's better not to charge it to 100 and drain it to less than 10% But for Sr is fine to do so Which it means performance will also need to follow the same lr practice? I tend to be lazy and plug it to charge overnight Yes, Performance using NMC. Basically LFP is also battery, will be damaged if left over at 100% for long time just less apparent than NMC. Battery damage is when it has max capacity 100%, or too low charge... so weather NMC or LFP still will kena.. just LFP is less, and LFP has to go to 100% for the calibration to be more accurate. NMC has bigger voltage delta hence no need do so. Side note, the Tesla battery BMS is smart la. You can set it to charge to just 80%, or even put it so it starts charging to get to 80% at 7am for example. So just reach home and plug in. next morning by the time u set its ready for you. And even better the battery is warm and ready to go.

QUOTE(johnnyenglish123 @ Jun 3 2024, 09:04 PM) So this means with performance stated 550 Km So actual range would be around 400km ? What Tesla advertises is WLTP, and what is shown in the car is EPA. And there's another based on your driving history Wh/km estimated. So there's different numbers. Mine is a M3LR 18", it shows 550km at 100% (probably less now). Usually if 550km WLTP, probably 80% is about 440km ish would be ok. but being a performance model being floored a lot I think eventually you get much less I'm guessing the performance is as efficient as the LR, but due to the 20" and wider tires for grip... cannot defy physics mah.

QUOTE(johnnyenglish123 @ Jun 3 2024, 10:57 PM) So save the cash and go for lr? Not worth topping up abit for performance? And your advice is charge it from 20 to 80 max cut off. Which is good for around 400km hmm If I'm buying now, I'll probably get the Performance... just for that seat... and those lovely styling! But the main issue I would have is not the range, but the 127mm ground clearance vs the 137mm of the LR...

QUOTE(HotshotS @ Jun 4 2024, 04:02 PM) It's funny that the road tax for Model 3 Performance version is probably gonna be cheaper than its long range counterpart. M3P roadtax declared 461kW so… 😅

QUOTE(HotshotS @ Jun 4 2024, 08:56 PM) Oh really? Is the engine capacity for M3P in the VOC written as 461kW? Since the horsepower of M3P is only 460hp (M3LR is around 490hp), I thought the electric motor power will be around 343kW (by converting from hp to kW). M3LR doesn't even get 490hp at the moment, there's no Acceleration Boost as of now.

QUOTE(HotshotS @ Jun 4 2024, 10:13 PM) Yeah M3LR is not getting the full 490hp yet but we're going to pay the road tax equivalent to 490hp. However, by the looks of it, the road tax of M3P is only gonna be the equivalent of 460hp (not sure how many kW Tesla Malaysia will declare). M3P is paying for 461kW (as declared in the VOC) which is tak betul either.

QUOTE(HotshotS @ Jun 5 2024, 02:07 PM) Yeah either JPJ got it wrong or Tesla Malaysia declared it wrongly (maybe 460hp is misread as 461kW?). There is no way M3P has 461kW because 461kW is like 617hp (Tesla officially announced 460hp for Shanghai version and 510hp for Fremont version). This figure declared by Tesla Malaysia, it’s a 461kW motor configuration on the M3P. Problem here is, Tesla don’t use actual rated kW but using max kW from motor instead.

QUOTE(HotshotS @ Jun 5 2024, 03:43 PM) So the only scenario that I can think of is that the M3P is indeed 461kW but we're only getting 343kW output. Likewise with our M3LR, we're not getting the full 366kW or 490hp. Yes, current M3LR cannot draw 366kW... probably only with Acceleration Boost and ~90% SoC https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/commen...speed_vs_state/Original M3LR gets peak 314kW (without AB) at ~80% battery SoC https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/commen...tate_of_charge/

But I like the Sentry Mode and the life Traffic features. I'm subscribed to PC, mainly because my kids comes into the car very quickly they turn on the media behind. Most of the time my car tak sempat connect wi-fi yet
