I commute 120km daily and I fully agree with this.As most of my daily ride is on a highway, I pick a parallel twin for economy and comfort.

QUOTE(borealis @ Aug 22 2023, 08:12 PM) I need you guys opinion, which one to choose because both have similar price Full fairing version (better aerodynamics and wind buffeting) of the QJ is launching this Saturday. Maybe you can consider that instead of the naked one.im planing to purchase one of them next month but both are tempting, which one to you think is better? ![]() MAX POWER 51 HP @ 15,500 rpm DISPLACEMENT 249.8 cc FRONT TYRE 110/70-R17 REAR TYRE 150/60-R17 DRY WEIGHT (KG) 182 ![]() MAX POWER 80.5Hp @ 11,000 rpm DISPLACEMENT 600 c.c. QUOTE(borealis @ Aug 23 2023, 07:40 PM) yeah but this is the cheapest 4 inline available. there's more options if second hand 4 inline bike. Completely understand the appeal of a 4 cyc. But the sacrifice in comfort gets old very quickly given the mileage you intend to do.....especially with a "supersport" riding position on the zx25r....that and having to wind the bike up past 8000rpm to get anywhere can really wear you out. I used to own a fzr 400 4 pot....fun toy but it's very weak under 8k rpm. Definitely get tapau by the new twin 650s. If you have the budget, consider the z900. I am also looking at that or the versys 650 as a supplement to my Dominar 400 for longer distance travel. I will be keeping the dominar for city commute and light off roading. You can't beat the weight, power, stability and comfort of a bigger bike for highway riding. A light, agile, flicky sportsbike makes for a very nervous highway bike. |

QUOTE(borealis @ Aug 24 2023, 03:06 AM) yeah I might pick used z900 because z800 lack of abs, its better safe than sorry... I'm traumatized when it comes to slippery road. If you want ABS then yeah. Z800 also have ABS variants. Not sure the pricing. I think 26k was the cheapest I’ve seen. For commuting for long distances, Z800 will beat that quarter liter 4 dapur any day and everyday. |

I would suggest just top up very slightly more and get the z900 instead. That bike have superb value for money. The zx25r has traction control but with the limited torque output in that bike, honestly it isn't necessary
If only the Cb650r has stock then can try that as well but the riding position is slightly sporty. My Katana actually makes for a really nice daily commute bike because of the santai riding position, but you'll get pissed off keep having to refuel so often This post has been edited by Nightstalker1993: Aug 24 2023, 10:27 PM |

QUOTE(Patent @ Aug 25 2023, 03:25 PM) That's a HUGE jump.... Lol.That's more than another whole zx25r. I feel the s1000gt is easier to manage though. AND comes with panniers. The 1000sx feels very heavy....having a taller seat height dont help either. Modeski is not bringing in ANY of the fitted luggage for any of its bikes.... Which is a major oversight. |

QUOTE(Patent @ Aug 24 2023, 10:37 PM) just ditch the qjmotor tbh, finding secondhand z900 is the best choice with your budget currently Assuming your cables/hoses and wiring are long enough. If you are lucky, you get enough slack. If not, that relatively cheap upgrade ends up costing you a lot more. I'm looking at you, Kawa z900. dont fall for the brembo sweets they put on the qjmotor, nissin brake is just as good for our road also the srk600rc is pretty disappointing for a sportbike, too heavy at 225kg and not even 100hp they just slap the same engine from srk600 and put on a different coverset I found that adding handlebar riser for sporty-naked bike like z250, gsx-s750 can improve the riding position to be more upright Doesn't even need much to add, just about 1 inch of height and it feels like a different bike I have 1" risers on my dominar, makes hell a lot of difference. I also have put on a 2.5" headlamp/binacle riser as well...much better lighting throw/distance and also raised the windshield without having putting a taller windshield or a extender. As for the brakes. I have no problem with even the old style nissin axial brakes on the base z900 (the SE get brembo radial brakes). Plenty of stopping power for the street. travel 140km daily to work with one of these
if you're not used to it, you will either get tired of it within 2 months, or love it everyday you have a B-full, so options are open to you, suggest you just get a big CC twin |

Some liter bikes only get 200km per tank even with 17L capacity because it will light up at 14L with 3L reserve, while some easily 300km. Not sure how's the Katana with that tank size.
